Tachibana Labs OS – A Serial Experiments Lain Icon

This wallpaper is a recreation of a lost piece originally uploaded by Gab06x. The original file was no longer available, so I rebuilt it in GIMP and applied CRT and screen flicker effects using assets from the Steam Workshop. All credit to the original creator for the concept and inspiration.

The image features the Tachibana General Laboratories logo, a fictional company from Serial Experiments Lain. Tachibana Labs created the Copland OS, the most widely used operating system for NAVI devices — essentially The Wired’s equivalent of modern PCs. They were also behind the mysterious Protocol 7, a major plot element tied to the series' dive into consciousness, networks, and reality.

You’ll notice the logo has a sleek, retro-futuristic design — fitting for the world of Lain, where the boundaries between digital and physical selves blur. Consider this a quiet homage to the aesthetics and tech philosophy of the show.
