More on the Floor

Description
Zomboid only allows you to place 50 weight units of stuff on a single tile. If you attempt to place an item that would go beyond that limit the highlight on the tile will be red instead of white, and you will not be able to place the item.

This mod removes that restriction, allowing you to place more stuff on a single tile. Handy for storing your overfull bags, water dispenser bottles and spare anvils as well as creating nice displays with the new 3D placement tool without worrying about weight limits.

Many thanks to Albion for teaching me the crazy lua trick used to make this mod work.

FAQ

Can this mod be safely added/removed from existing games?

Is the weight of objects in Zomboid in kilograms, pounds, or arbitrary units representing how awkward an item is to carry?

dropping works but placing doesn't with filled up containers with inventory tetris. not sure if its an inventory tetris issue

@space is it only the "place" option that has issues? I.e.: you can still drop the item in the world, you just can't place in a specific location?

@woot B42 only for now, but I'm going to try backporting it when I get a chance.

by placing items I meant containers that have alot of stuff in them. for some reason they still have an issue. removing the items from the container works though.

Works for build 41 as well?

@d4n13lus for single player, you can just not put more than seems reasonable on one tile.

Adding a sandbox option for a specific capacity is a good idea, and I will do that in an update before multiplayer is out (so sometime in 2025 :-P )

+1 the last comment, a version with 100 or 200 weight per tile will be more balanced, because its unreal to put 50ton in a single tile ;)

Anyway, the mods its awesome!

I understand not allowing you to create a neutron star in a single block, but it seems silly vanilla only allows 50 encumbrance units on each, maybe 100 to 200 is more balanced?

@Nepenthe,

On my existing save, I tried a new container (crate and just built for this test) on a different tile, filled the crate and started placing heavy objects on top of the crate, got the total weight of the tile to 326.5.

I also tried a new run, with only this mod active and achieved a similar result as above.

So it appears to be adding this mod to an existing save will work, but not for containers that have already been interacted with?

Hopefully this helps.

@Nepenthe, It was on the same tile. I will try later with a different tile to try and recreate the result.

Also, I do have a custom weight mod enabled. If the issue is the same for the different tile, I will try a new save without the custom weight mod enabled and let you know the result. Thanks for that guidance.
