[B42] Working Air Conditioners

Description
Port of the amazing Working Air Conditioners mod by Slayer to Build 42.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3071370537

Only changes by me were to fix incompatibilities with the new selection system in B42 and to use the new folder structure. This version will be removed if the original is updated.

Original Description

Overview
This mod won't let you freeze your butts off during zombie apocalypse.
Activate air conditioners and stay hot during winters.
Cooling is also possible but works only in single player games.

If you like my work (This goes to Slayer):

How does this work
Obtaining Air Conditioners
AC units cannot be crafted, but you can find them in game already installed on some building walls. They are usually located on industrial buildings, warehouses, but also there is one in Muldraugh bakery. You will need to simply pick them and take them home to your base.

Placing Air Conditioner
To activate the air conditioner you do not need to learn any skills nor tools.

Place the air conditioner outside your base on a wall behind which you want heat to be generated. Right click the air conditioner, and select "Attach". This needs to be done only once after placing the unit on a wall.

Operating Air Conditioner
Air conditioners will naturally work only when power is available. Vanilla generators, but also solar panels will work. Right click air conditioner, and simply select "Turn on". Turning off is similar.

Click "Settings" to access a panel to change temperature and fan speed. Temperature is self-explanatory; the fan speed controls the radius of heat propagation. This mod uses in-game algorithm for heat propagation which is not perfect. You may notice that sometimes heat is blocked for no reason. I cannot fix this but you may experiment with different A/C placements or using more than one unit.

AC units can also be controlled remotely. To do so, you will need to use a TV remote. Click "Settings" on the remote in your inventory list. The remote will control nearby unit as long as it is not too far. If there are multiple units in range, you will control the one that is closer to the player. The player will face in the direction where the AC unit is, this way you will know that unit is being controlled. You can control units only on the same floor.

Other
Air conditioner will consume a constant amount of fuel.
Air conditioner does not not to be repaired.
Air conditioners do not generate any toxic gas.
It is safe to add the mod in the middle of the game. It is also safe to remove it which is not recommended ;)

Please let me know of your ideas in the comments. I will try to implement them. Also please let me know if you find any bugs.

The turn on option is not showing when I right click on the air conditioner. Any ideas?

@poedgirl I wasn't aware that while on grid power the building interior temp is unchangeable. I'd recommend mentioning that in the mod description (your part of the ported mod's description at least) lest folks like myself try using it before power fails and can't get cooling to work.

Hey there, i cant turn on the air conditioner. When i click on it, theres nothing. Theres a constant supply of electricity due to my generator. Any idea why?

@poedgirl Thanks for your reply. Will keep an eye out over at UGO then.

@Great Grey Wolf Sif - That mod may cause issues with this. There are people in the comments of UGO reporting things will randomly turn on and off.

This mod doesn't "consume" any electricity, however it requires electricity to operate. While on grid power, all buildings are 22C and that can't change, this is only useful when grid power isn't available.

I have run into an issue where the power failed and now I am running on generator power. Before hand the AC unit has always been set to 20c but it never hit those temps even before the power went out, prior it would hang around 22c. Now that I am running on a generator it fluctuates, still set to 20c, but sometimes it will rapidly dip down to -145c. The only mod in my list that I "think" could be causing this issue (If nobody is experiencing this normally without them) would be Ultimate Generator Overhaul, possibly the sensor system it adds for turning on and off lights when entering a room or the way that it modifies the generators behaviours. If you need a full mod list and sandbox settings, let me know where I can drop those. Cheers.

Dumb question but do the AC's still function normally with open windows or is it similar to the car AC's? I have my windows barricaded but I don't think that would be the same as an actual window

i have a sound problem as the ac unit sound is turning off every other sounds when in range of the unit.
