Enhanced Global Illumination & Lighting

Description
With over 20,000 downloads on Nexus, Enhanced Global Illumination is pioneering it's 1.3 update onto the Steam Workshop! Thanks for all the love and support. Steam image size limits suck. Watch the video, try it out, or check out our nexus page.

For optimal results, it is recommended to set the in-game Global Illumination and Shadows settings to Ultra.
Comes with 3 presets: weak, balanced, and strong. "Balanced" is loaded by default.
Strong: very strong indirect lighting - super cozy for people who use HDR or like strong lighting.
Balanced: Intended mostly to correct the darkness of shadows and lowlight interiors.
Weak: Subtler boost, purely to raise dark levels of shadows and interiors just a hair

Cycle between them with F7 and pick your favorite. Extensible to an indefinite number of custom GI profiles.
Disables itself at night by default to keep things dark.

Customization:
All keybinds and default settings are located in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1771300\3443741063\EGI.cfg
Load multiple "GI profiles" and cycle between them with the F7 key.
Press F6 to disable the mod's enhanced GI.
Preset profiles are located in \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1771300\3443741063\profiles
Set a custom profile to be loaded at night with GI_NightProfile (in EGI.cfg).
Set your default profile with GI_DefaultProfile (in EGI.cfg)
Configure a profile in real time with editor commands and dump to kcd.log to make your own cfg.

Performance Considerations:
Very small decrease in performance.
If you’d like to enhance indirect lighting without affecting performance, comment out or remove the line "GI_ExperimentalCVars" in EGI.cfg. These tweaks automatically disable themselves if your settings do not pass a compatibility check (your settings are too low or another mod is taxing the shadow res pool too much)

Known Issues / Incompatibilities:
If you encounter strobing, flickering, or pulsing lighting effects, they are not caused by this mod. Make sure you are not using e_svoTI_AsyncCompute = 1 in your user.cfg or are using any mods that enable it. AsyncCompute causes issues with global illumination, and Enhanced GI makes those issues extremely apparent. Enhanced GI attempts to disable e_svoTI_AsyncCompute automatically. If you really want to turn it on, add "GI_letmeturnonasync" to EGI.cfg.

If your shadows are flashing/flickering, the mod's experimental settings are incompatible with your settings or another mod you have loaded. Comment out or remove the line "GI_ExperimentalCVars" in EGI.cfg, or lower some of the experimental settings in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1771300\3443741063\experimentalsettings.cfg.

Experimental Settings: Update v1.2 introduced new shadow CVars for budgeting/LODs. The experimental settings primarily restore these to pre-patch + boosted.

This mod is a work-in-progress. Leave your experiences and there will be more updates to come. If you have any specific questions about compatibility, HDR, or whatever really, I highly recommend reading the posts on our nexus page. Many, many anecdotes are there.

It seems to have minimal performance impact. Just be sure to follow the instructions, find a suitable option of the mod settings.

Does this negatively impact my game's performance?

Fixed. Now it'll work even if it doesn't find the files where it expects them. Things are less customizable for people with it on another drive, but at least it'll load balanced and let them cycle between profiles in-game.

If you want to change the defaults, you'll have to copy the mod to steamapps\workshop\content\1771300\3443741063, making the folders as necessary, on the same drive as the game.

That is the case for me, yes. Is there something I can do on my end for it to work?

Yaknow, I bet I know the issue. It's probably that you guys have the game installed in a different location than usual or a different drive. The mod traverses from the game to the workshop folder it's configs are at, so it's probably not finding them.

Can't get the mod to activate, pressing f6 does nothing...
