Variety Included
[A purely cosmetic proof of concept mod that adds size variety to duplicants (including Bionic if you own BBP); creating visual diversity without affecting gameplay mechanics.]

"A software update on the Printing Pod recovered long lost data regarding Duplicants and their varying sizes. The master list of size data for each duplicant was unfortunately corrupt, however, 7 distinct size variations were able to be recovered and are now possible."


Features
  • Seven different size variants:
    • 40% of normal size (Rare, More common with Stairs Mod)
    • 60% of normal size (Uncommon)
    • 80% of normal size (Average)
    • 100% of normal size (Default)
    • 107% of normal size (Average)
    • 113% of normal size (Uncommon)
    • 120% of normal size (Rare)

  • Three different size selection modes (Weighted, Cycled, Random)
  • Duplicant type filtering (Standard, Bionic, or specific duplicants)
  • Fixed size options for all duplicants or specific ones
  • Compatible with custom duplicant mods

How it Works

When a duplicant spawns, it applies one of the seven size variants based on your selected mode

Configuration

See the config.txt file for all available settings and instructions.

Notes
  • Size ranges are fixed at 40% minimum and 120% maximum
    (Further ranges are currently unstable/incompatible)
  • The Stairs mod is recommended for proper navigation/immersion of the 40% size dupes.
  • Works great alongside Critter Traits Reborn for a more rounded diverse colony experience!
  • All settings take effect after restarting the game

Compatibility
  • Works with base game and Spaced Out DLC
  • Compatible with most custom duplicant mods
  • The 40% size variant has a higher chance to spawn with the Stairs mod

While the mod is purely cosmetic for now, I'm hoping to implement some size-specific tweaks down the road.

@虎斑法斗 Critter Traits Reborn is what inspired this mod in the first place! :D I've got plans for a future update that adds unique traits for each size, I just need to figure out what those are... No clue when that'll be released, though.

Would be a fun cross-mod interaction if critters could eat dupes smaller than them. xD

@Blahramewe I've thought of that! (specifically with Dupes size 40% or smaller) Also considered the idea that Duplicants bigger than 120% will require 3-tile high gaps to navigate (partly why those sizes are currently NOT available)... I don't know the first thing about affecting dupe AI/pathing, though, to make that feature a reality. Their animations become wonky smaller than 40% anyway.

I also would really love to have their skills/strength/attributes, etc. scale with size.
*sigh* ...one day.

For now, I'm overhauling the size ranges for a new update.
Default ranges will be decided by gender and have a more realistic size distribution.

I dunno, I can see some advantages to having a small duplicant be able to fit in a one block high vertical gap. Would make setting up certain infrastructure a good deal more compact.

使用了一天,发现问题:在选人界面用定制小人属性的mod改了小人属性后,进入小人体型变了,不知道是因为改了属性导致的体型变异,还是本身就不能保持一致

Working on a small update/patch that adds a "Realistic" sizing (based on real heights) option that will become the new Default sizing.
