Introduction to R&D History：
Shaoshan Type 2 electric locomotive, code SS2. It is an electric locomotive developed by Tianxin Locomotive Factory and Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute of socialist China at the same time as the development of the '6Y1' electric locomotive. The reason is that the development cycle of the '6Y1' type has been extended due to the influence of the objective conditions encountered in the previous development process, and the '6Y2' electric locomotive imported from France has also begun to be used; In order to absorb French technology and design ideas, as well as improve and summarize the design problems of the '6Y1' electric locomotive, the Shaoshan 2 electric locomotive was developed (for the historical information of '6Y1' and '6Y2', please see the introduction in the corresponding mod). Shaoshan Type 2 and '6Y1' type later improved electric locomotive, are equipped with the latest electrical technology in socialist China at that time, and in the 1970s, with another leap in semiconductor technology, the silicon rectifier and other components on the car were updated again, making the locomotive run and operate better, and became the most powerful self-developed electric locomotive in socialist China.
