However due to the nature of Harad, Rhun and Khand there is little info and potential for different civs in these locations so these areas are always going to be slightly barren so yeh I could make and alternate map in the future with the whole of the east shrunk down and as you suggested also make some sub region maps.
Eventually with all the civs I plan to add the current map should be mostly filled out bar Umbar, Harad, Rhun and Khand which will inevitable have semi isolated starts.
If you currently want a more shrunk down map I am sure there are a few out there made by the community and again thanks for the feedback.
regions like harad and rhun could use some trimming. imagine marching an army from rhun or harad to gondor, it'll take half an era.
I get wanting a true adaptation of the LotRO map to civ but i think it will lead to boring gameplay. map size of 96x60 or smaller would be ideal for a fantasy world about war and conflict.
