A Middle-earth map for the LOTRO Mod

(Currently has a chance to crash when using GS or RF)

This map works with any number of civs but around 30-35 seems to be the best due to its large size with probably an upper limit of around 37 civs and maybe 24 city states but depending on your computer this will differ.

In order to have all the custom LOTRO civs start in their correct places add them to the civ slots first, followed by random civs as otherwise the random civs will take up their slots so for example Egypt will displace the Mordor civ.

Currently the LOTRO Mod is unfinished but when new civs and city states are added they will be added to this map.

This map has custom size of 123 by 100.
All the resources were hand placed as world builders auto placement wasn't functioning correctly and because of this there will be bits that could do with some extra or fewer resources so if you notice this please mention it.

I agree and the point of the map was to as accurately as possible recreate the LOTRO map in civ 6 and have enough room for all the future civs I plan to add so currently it will feel more empty than it should do at the end.

However due to the nature of Harad, Rhun and Khand there is little info and potential for different civs in these locations so these areas are always going to be slightly barren so yeh I could make and alternate map in the future with the whole of the east shrunk down and as you suggested also make some sub region maps.

Eventually with all the civs I plan to add the current map should be mostly filled out bar Umbar, Harad, Rhun and Khand which will inevitable have semi isolated starts.

If you currently want a more shrunk down map I am sure there are a few out there made by the community and again thanks for the feedback.

it's very pretty but impractical for single player. early game trade is non-existent for some of these civs. feels like its made only for multiplayer or a really long games (30+cities, 300+ turns on standard). the AI rarely expands past 15 cities. most players finish games <250 turns on standard.

regions like harad and rhun could use some trimming. imagine marching an army from rhun or harad to gondor, it'll take half an era.

I get wanting a true adaptation of the LotRO map to civ but i think it will lead to boring gameplay. map size of 96x60 or smaller would be ideal for a fantasy world about war and conflict.

I changed how the map is implemented into the game so tell me if it still works for you but it seems fine on my end.
