Description
Tired of having your provinces constantly bombarded by some rogue ship that sneaked so far into your waters that it would take you several turns to hunt down? Tired of enemy fleets running away to just outside your attacking fleet's range? This mod might help.

In practice, this mod reduces naval bombardment range for the enemy to just 0.1, without affecting yours. However, they can still bomb your ports to open you up for invasion, but they need to be basically in melee range to do it. Mod also reduces AI fleet travel to half, while more than doubling yours. Works for non-FOTS campaigns as well, though obviously bombardment is not a factor there.

On a more technical side, this functions by changing the campaign variable for the starting bombardment range to 0.1 and buffing your range by 8 in the difficulty tables. Movement ranges are also tuned through the difficulty tables, so this mod should be compatible with any other mod that modifies ships. I did have some problems during testing where for some reason the difficulty modifications didn't apply for Normal and Easy. Not sure if this is just on my side. If anyone can figure it out, do tell.

New version that only modifies bombardment ranges and doesn't touch campaign movement ranges here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3432893076

Hey quick question. I hate having my cities bombarded by ships coming through, so I am grateful for you trying out stuff to help that problem. Is there any chance of getting just that part of the mod without the fleet range changes? Alternatively, I noticed that forts give naval bombardment resistance, would it be possible to set that to 100% for all fort levels? In any case, cheers and thanks for still modding the game :)
