[B42] School's Out: Anime-Style Student Uniforms

Descrição
You hear a bell ring. Is that for fourth period...or are you dinner?

School's Out is a clothing/item mod that adds Japanese school uniforms to Project Zomboid. These can be worn, seen on student zombies, and found throughout the map.

This version of School's Out is for Build 42 (unstable). The build — and by extension, the mod — are subject to change without warning. While I do my best to minimize the impact on players, instability is obviously inherent to "unstable" builds; if you play this version of the game/mod, please be aware things may break at any time. Remember IWBUMS: "I will back up my save!"

Modders are still learning to work with B42. If you encounter any issues, please let me know!

For the Build 41 (stable) version, download here instead: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2904220876

  • School Sport Shorts (2 colors)

  • Loafers
  • Uwabaki (4 colors)

The mod also makes standalone several pieces from NyanCat's "I WANNA BE CUTE" retexture:
  • Cute Blazer
  • Cute "Neko" Sweatshirt
  • Cute "Neko" Face Mask (2 types)
  • Cute "Neko" Stockings (4 types)
  • Cute Collar (3 types)
  • Gura's Poncho

Most items have multiple styles / wear options (e.g., shortening a skirt or unbuttoning a blazer).

All items come with custom, vanilla-style pixel art icons and realistic, balanced stats.

NyanCat's anime-style body retextures are included as with School's Out as an optional add-on. Use the included skins, or only keep the clothes and play instead with your preferred body pack.

All clothing/items have been knit sensibly into the zombie spawn and loot distribution systems. Of course, you'll find the Knox Country schools full of appropriately-dressed schoolgirls, but if you're looking to pick up a new uniform without killing your classmates, you can drop by the clothing store or rifle through closets to find a spare. (You might find them in other places, too.)

NyanCat's cute items will also appear in the world, albeit much less frequently. You may have to steal a neko sweatshirt off that girl from third period. It's okay; she doesn't need it anymore.

Live your end-of-school-days just the way you like with customizable sandbox settings!

Use the Gender Ratio setting to set the ratio of male to female student zombies in schools: fulfill your zombie harem fantasies, or play tsundere and beat your way through hordes of boys. Choose between Uniform Styles, whether you prefer blazer-style uniforms, sailor suits, or both; customize even more using the Blazer, Sailor, Sweater, Bottom, and Tie Color and Style options. Use the Swimsuit Styles option to choose between classic "old style" or "new style" swimsuits, or swap blue sukumizu for White Swimsuits and enjoy the fanservice iconic fan-favorite colors!

By default, the School's Out zombies will replace vanilla student zombies in schools. However, the Exchange Students option lets you spawn School's Out zombies alongside vanilla students; toggling Dress Code Enforced will disable them entirely (if you only want uniforms for yourself). You can also use the Truancy Rate option to spawn students more frequently outside of school.

Finally, if you feel like School's Out items are appearing too frequently (or not enough) you can use the Spawn Chance Modifier to tilt the odds to your liking, or even disable them entirely.

We're a long way from graduation! Some features you can expect to see in upcoming releases (in no particular order):
  • New clothes, items, and variants
  • Profession/Trait system integration ("Student" Profession, custom Traits, etc.)
  • Relevant anime-specific costumes (Gakkou Gurashi, Highschool of the Dead, etc.)
  • Custom 3D models

Huge Thanks to NyanCat, Whose Retexture Inspired This Mod!
Go give 'em some points, or nice comments or something!

Disclaimers
I have tested this mod alongside many popular mods without any issues and tried to follow best modding practices, but I cannot guarantee compatibility and take no responsibility for problems.

All textures, icons, and promotional images were made by me, except when indicated otherwise.

Some screenshots were made using Mystic's Face Retexture.

Lots of time went into this! If my mod brought you joy, it would mean a lot if you...

@Nanaka I've tested this and can't replicate it. You probably have a mod loaded somewhere that's screwing with the sweater model.
Nanaka 30 de mai. às 19:41
School sweater cause upper body disappear. There is only sweater outside, no body underneath. I can see the backpack through the chests, lol. I used Tomb's Player Body Overhaul and VSkin v2.1 mod they have the same issue. Other clothes work perfectly

@Arkın Kıran ...can you be more specific?

Nah, the way PZ spawns "zombies" is by declaring specific outfit names. School's Out doesn't use the generic Student zombie, it defines its own outfits. So someone would have to create a compat mod to allow the SO zombies to spawn in Week One.
FUR10S0 11 de abr. às 4:41
Yea, they use the default student clothes.

Wich ia weird bc the week one NPCs are considered "zombies" by the game, they should have modded clothes.
Pygmalion  [autor(a)] 10 de abr. às 18:28
Does it not? I've not played with Week One myself but I can't imagine why a simple clothing mod would have any conflicts. Or do you mean you wish students were spawning in the pre-apocalypse phase?
FUR10S0 10 de abr. às 15:53
wish this worked with week one

Huh. Thanks for bringing that to my attention -- it's possible something subtle changed in B42 with "overworld" spawns. (Or maybe this is my fault and exists in B41, too.) I'll look into it and push a patch as needed! I can't guarantee it'll be right away as I'm handling a lot IRL at the moment, but within a month or so I hope to have a lot more runway to work on PZ. Thanks for your feedback!

Amazing mod, thanks. Just a potential bug report.

The seifuku zombie spawn in the overworld is working weirdly on my save. It seems that there is a base spawn chance for the Male seifuku zeds, and is not affected by the Spawn Chance Modifier. When I set it to 0, JKs are gone but the boys are still kicking strong. When I crank the modifier to 1000, almost every new spawn is a seifuku, and the gender ratio is about 50/50.

I edited the .lua file, setting INT_CHANCE_TO_SPAWN_SEIFUKU_STUDENTS_RANDOMLY to 0, still spawning. So I'm guessing there might be some glitches.
