Description
A quick and dirty Neonate Viper/Derelict MEC equivalent for the Archon. Made to give you a corpse in the less crowded early game in case you run too many modded enemies in the late game, like I do.

It's a heavily nerfed Archon. Retains Dodge and Defense, but with no pinions and no shooting, it'll just rush to melee you.

That's it, go download my Soldier Emotions mod, it's more interesting.

I like the idea of getting earlier achons and everything else going on here, but I think their damage needs to be tuned down a little bit, they're monsters if they manage to actually hit you, it's one shotting corporals.

@AgRipnus These archons provide the archon autopsy and appear very early. One consequence of that is access to excellent melee weapons very early in the game.

Following on from Cloista's suggestion, if you wanted to change the golden armor to another color I'd recommend an Oxidized Metal look. (Think Statue of Liberty)

Interesting concept I could see being helpful for early game variety, although parts of me kinda wish they retained the actual gun-firing part even if it was weak damage.

I'm actually fine with no pinions, makes the higher tier more noteworthy instead of just stat differences. Also makes the initial Advent Mec's more of a deal when first faced in a run.

Overall I think these are pretty cool. I do have a small bit of feedback on their looks - the cutouts on the body are significantly lower quality than on the helmet or any of the cutoff bits, they either need to be a more 'internal' colour than black, or just remove the cutout entirely and put the chest back to normal. I'd also make the golden metal a more eroded colour. Awesome start though 👏

I didn't consider the damage when I removed the pinion ability, I more so thought that a rookie would never land a shot on an Archon in the sky. It'd be a free turn for the Archon.

Pinions should stay, but make them terrible. Weak enough to not be a menace for rookies but strong enough to seriously consider the threat of cover destruction

If you want to give it a try, you could make a modified pinions ability that only launches 2 missiles.

Or that does like 0-1 damage, if the former proves too hard.
