Description
Kawasaki Series 100 Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) also known as "K Cars", are a light rail vehicle built as replacement for SEPTA's aging fleet of PCC and Brilliner interurban streetcars. The 100 series LRVs operate on Route 101 & 102 (Media-Sharon Hill Line) or soon to be renamed D lines (D1 and D2). The 100 series is slated for replacement starting in Spring of 2027 by Alstom Citadis vehicles.

While the 100 series share many similarities with the 9000 series used on the rest of Philadelphia's Trolley lines, they are slightly longer with turn radii that cannot make the city hall loop; and they collect power via a pantograph rather than a trolley pole.
