Ever noticed that despite being called "the powder keg of Europe", nothing really happens in the Balkans most games? Or that instead of a powerkeg you only get a sad Ottoman basketcase?

That's what lead led me to create Gates of the Bosphorus. This mod aims to add historical context and new mechanics to nations of the Balkans and the Ottoman Empire. This mod has an expensive scope covering the Ottoman and post-Ottoman states of the near East with an eventual goal of providing content from 1836 into the 1940s.

NOTE: This mod will not provide any DLC-exclusive content unless you own the respective DLC!

The Pirates of the Bosphorus event seemingly cannot be resolved, the progress bar never fills up regardless of how long you have an Admiral working to solve it.

Hey there, your mod sounds really great, sadly when I try to start a game with your mod, the game breaks down. Could it be because of the last patch for "Iberian twilight"?

Currently, the options are hardcoded as the game does not inherently track ruling dynasties, and character creation has to take that into account.

Thanks for the report though, I'll see if I can nail it down, I've been having stray reports of ruler characters not being assigned correctly since 1.12 dropped.

Playing as Greece, the Downfall of King Otto event seemingly has a hardcoded names for most, if not all of the options. The Danish one lists a William of Glücksburg, which is awkward when you can get the event before the Glücksburgs ascended to the throne historically, along with there not being anything to in game to allow Denmark to have the Glücksburgs ascend to the throne, I think.

Not sure if the game keeps track of a ruler's children or Dynasty, but could it be a solution to simply make the Danish option a generic character with the same "last name" as the current ruler of the chosen country? Presuming it's a Monarchy of course.

Also, clicking the Danish option just gives me a random Greek character as King for some reason. Unsure if the other options have the same result.

I have the d**n CMF installed, why do I keep getting these d**n popups???
