Troubleshooting / Performance Analysis
Performance issues
  • Compare performance with ReShade effects / add-ons disabled.
See below on disabling ReShade effects and/or "Shader Toggler" add on.
  • Try older versions of ReShade and/or Shader Toggler add-in.
Also see the troubleshooting section in the ReShade forum - https://reshade.me/forum/troubleshooting

ReShade Configuration
  • Configure ReShade settings in-game
...via UI (default hot key "Home")

  • Define hot key to toggle ReShade effects on and off (on the fly)
...via "Settings" tab > "Effect toggle key".
Note: Does not affect add-ons like Shader Toggler - those can be activated/deactivated separately (see below).

  • Activate "Performance Mode"
...(after being done with tweaking the settings) via "Home" tab, at the bottom.

  • Disable loading of Reshade (including add-ons)
...by removing "+r_allowBlackListedLayers 1" from the game's startup parameters.

Shader Toggler Configuration
  • Change HUD toggle hot key
...via ReShade "Add-ons" tab > "Shader Toggler" add-on > toggle group > edit > key shortcut.
Don't forget to "Save all Toggle Groups".

  • Disable/enable "Shader Toggler" add-on
...via ReShade "Add-ons" tab > "Shader Toggler" add-on, checkbox.
    Note: Requires restart.

ok...
Do you have anything active that might interfere? Like MSI Afterburner? Overlays?
Did you try a minimally configured ReShade (only standard effects, no plugins)? Did you try the game with minimal graphics settings?
Does ReShade work with other games?
Do you use the newest graphics driver? Did you try rolling back to an older version? (helped me for instance with Oblivion Remastered and Expedition 33)

No, I have the intro video disabled which is why I see "Please wait" screen. Yes, it does run properly once ReShade was disabled.

Hm, do you mean the game's shader compilation? This should only run once initially (and after a driver update).
Does the game run properly without ReShade?

The crash occurs when the main menu shows up. Reshade UI does show up at the start, during the "Please wait" initial loading/shader compilation section.

I have a Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6750 XT, and 32GB DDR4 ram running on Windows 11. Here's the last few lines from my Reshade.log

Hi @(emil)show-host,
do you have any more specifics on your situation?
- When does the crash occur? Right at the beginning? Does the Reshade UI show at all?
- Any error message/details? Dialog? Event Log? `Reshade.log` (in the game's folder)?
- Your specs? Windows? NVidia, AMD? ...

Here are some things I would recommend to try
- Make sure no other modifications / mods / apps (MSI Afterburnber, ...) might be interfering
- Use some moderate settings for the game (medium)
- Make sure to use the [newest version of ReShade] (https://reshade.me/#download)
- Try Reshade with minimal setup (no shader toggler, ...) - remeber to select vulkan and add `+r_allowBlackListedLayers 1` to Steam startup parameters
- Check [Reshade Troubleshooting forum] (https://reshade.me/forum/troubleshooting)
- e.g. https://reshade.me/forum/troubleshooting/9638-reshade-not-working-anymore-on-doom-eternal-vulkan#47211

Reshade crashes the game for me. Any help?

I didn't find a shader for the stealth vignette via ShaderToggler as well.
Furthermore, I also didn't find any console commands or variables to turn this off. There's a r_vignette variable which controls another (very faint) vignette effect, but noth the stealth one.
Quite unfortunate...

Did you find a way to get rid of that awful blue vignette crouch effect?

Thought I could catch it with ShaderToggler but sadly no

Unfortunately when I use this HUD toggler, the game freezes after a while. Never did that before. And the framerate takes quite a hit when in towns. I have a 13900K and 4090 and my rig is used only for gaming and nothing else. Have never had this issue with any other game.

I play in fullscreen with G-sync, V-Sync On in Nvidia Control Panel, V-Sync off in-game, and Overall Graphics Quality to Supreme (everything maxed), and Full RT with everything On, 4K DLSS Quality and FG on, and get stable 120-110fps.
