SZU - Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn

Description
This is a reproduction of the Sihltalbahn (S4) and Uetlibergbahn (S10) railways operated by SZU. These are standard-gauge commuter railways (part of the Zürich S-Bahn) with up to 10 minute frequencies in peak hour. They share a double track connection to the Zürich main station, but most of the rest of the network is single-track with passing loops. The Triemli-Uetliberg section is one of the steepest regular standard-gauge railways in the world, with a ruling grade of 7.9%. The Sihlwald-Sihlbrugg section is currently only used by museum steam trains; Sihlbrugg station (where the line joins the main line to Zug) was closed in 2006. The Wiedikon-Giesshübel section, which runs in a tunnel, is also not used for scheduled services, but connects to the main line to Zürich HB.

This map covers a weekday morning, from the first departure at 4:50am, using the real life timetables of the S4 and S10. You will have to route trains out of the two depots onto the working line. There is a one-hour time skip between 7:30am and 8:30am to avoid repetitive play during peak hour, after which some of the trains must be withdrawn from service back to the depots. The map ends around 9:30am (8:30 in game) when the intra-peak service is stable.

There is also one run of the Zürcher Museums-Bahn steam train, which normally runs on Sundays, not weekday peak hour! The steam train is modelled in game as urban transit, and so must be brought out/returned to the coach yard at Sihlwald. It only makes limited stops between Sihlwald and Wiedikon, but has a very low top speed. It is also running more-or-less its real life timetable, just much earlier in the day.

I have also added some "fantasy" trains: hourly EuroCity trains, that normally run between Zürich and Sihlbrugg via the Zimmerberg Base Tunnel, but did in fact run on the SZU line during trackwork in 2015. In the game, they run non-stop from Wiedikon to Sihlbrugg - braking penalties are enabled, but are not totally unavoidable, as it is not possible for them to make it down the line without stopping in at least one of the passing loops.

In order to make the train services work in the game, Zürich HB has been marked as a sink station, even though in reality it is a terminal station for SZU. So trains that in real life pull into Zürich HB and then reverse out will in this map depart the map at Zürich HB and then be replaced with an incoming train one minute later. If your trains get late, *do not* let the incoming train onto the platform before the previous train has exited, or the previous train will have no way to leave.

Viel Spass!

Hi, are you interested in the creation of the S17 from Aargau Verkehr?

Thanks :)

It seems to automatically add one train for every urban transit train in the timetable that originates at the home station of the coachyard. If I change the type of the ZMB train to something else (commuter, regional, etc.) the pre-spawned train disappears. Which makes sense because only urban transit trains are supposed to originate in coachyards.

Heyy, very nice map :) I just have one question: How did you manage to put some trains into the coach yard in the south (so that they are already stabled there) before you start a New Game?
