Second Floor

Description
Make hidden floors where your people can sleep. Maximize your space. Because being able to harness electricity and make spaceships but not being able to make a second floor makes no sense!



Adds staircases leading to "fake floors" where colonists can sleep. Many pawns can sleep in the same floor, and they will not get negative thoughts of sharing bedroom or beds.

There are currently three tiers of quality for the floors: Cheap, Decent, and Fancy. They give buff/debuffs according to their quality. They require different related research projects and materials.

You can assign people to the bedrooms just like you would assign a bed.

The size of the room where the staircases are placed matters. Check the description of each staircase to know its size requirement. You also can't place them outside or more than one per room.

There are also one basement staircase. You can use them in the same room as the second floor one. More options for basements to come soon(tm)



It is possible to exploit the game placeworker mechanics to place more staircases than intended by the balance I designed for the mod. That's up to you to use.

There are no graphic for staircases going south. This is becuase I was incapable of making that art work.

The art of this mod sucks. Yes, that's the issue. I tried to make them as vanilla friendly as possible though!

Technically, pawns are sharing a bed when they sleep in the floors. I have modified the moods and thoughts they would receive given the case, but some mods or niche cases may not be fixed. Please report such situations and have patience as this is my first mod that uses c#.

Pawns will not be assigned to the floors automatically after the first one per staircase. Please make sure you assign people to them manually.



More bedroom types and variations.

A placeworker that will look at a whole building instead of a room and calculate how many rooms the building can support.

More types of floors, like a recreation room or research basement.

More floors, like third floors or even apartments.

A placeworker that takes into consideration total wall health.

only one guest would claim the staircase and only one will sleep in it with hospitality it seems

Edit: Seem like for my load order, it works if Second Floor is loaded BEFORE Hospitality. So far it seem like it is working!

Seem like it doesn't work well with Hospitality mod. Experienced similar issue where only 1 pawn would sleep in the staircase, with no other beds, and manually assigned. Works when hospitality mod is disabled.

My Hospitality guests don't seem to want to share the "rooms", though they use bunk beds just fine.

This is especially helpful for Hospitality, just toss your guests up there. I love customizing my colonist's rooms so I wasn't sure exactly how to use this.

The cheap bedrooms for quick bunkers are also great.

so was thinking you will made one for livestock or animal .... like 1 stairs can do 20 animal live on there

are there type of second floors stairs that negate disturbed sleep? kinda annoying seeing other pawn passed the stair and it trigger the debuff.

Edit-Edit (sorry to spam): with three colonists assigned to a (4) bedroom, only the first will enter voluntarily. The rest sleep on the ground wherever they are and claim to have insufficient beds. Manually directing them to sleep there does not disrupt/wake each other, but they won't go on their own.
