The Lord of the Rings. Duel for Middle-Earth

Description
Play as the Fellowship or Sauron and attempt to determine the fate of Middle-earth!

Designers: Antoine Bauza, Bruno Cathala

Artist: Vincent Dutrait

A game plays over 3 successive chapters that unfold similarly.
On your turn, strengthen your Skills, hoard your treasure, stretch your presence across Middle-earth, rally Races to your cause, or advance the Quest of the Ring.

Turn Overview.
In each chapter players take cards from a display of face-down and face-up cards arranged at the start of a round. A player can take a card only if it's available, that is not partially covered by any other cards. Players can either play the card, paying its cost and placing it in their play area, obtaining its benefit, or discard the card and take as many coins from the reserve as the current chapter.

Players can also take a Landmark tile from one of the faceup tiles, paying its cost placing it in their play area. They will be able to immediately place a Fortress pawn on the corresponding region of the central board and benefit from its other effects.

Immediately win the game by fulfilling one of the 3 victory conditions:
- Quest of the Ring
- Support of the Races
- Conquering Middle-earth

If none of these three victory conditions are achieved by the end of chapter 3, the player who is present in the most regions of Middle-earth (with a Fortress and/or at least 1 Unit) wins the game. In case of tie, share the victory.

Thank you for your work on this!

A question:

Whenever I press "Start", the Race tokens are shuffled, but something goes wrong and 2-3 rightmost stacks are getting scattered - sometimes some tokens are even falling off the table :) Any chance I'm doing something wrong here?

Thanks again!

Dear Jordi Morera, thank you very much for your comment. This behavior of ring track is designed by game creators. So that both sides have exactly the same path to go: 14 steps.

Hello everybody - is there a Discord server for finding some players?

Thank you for creating this awesome mod, Andy! I've just discovered the game thanks to it and I just love it. It is very well done and I really appreciate the effort of polishing it to make it even better! We found an issue with the Ring track automation when playing on a Mac. When you move forward the Fellowship token with the button, the first half of the track (behind the token) moves forward with it. I think it is because the Fellowship token and that half of the track seem to be a single piece. (The nazgul token works all right). However, we tried the game on my niece's laptop using Windows and it worked flawlessly as intended.

Fixed an issue with automation. The problem was in the second layer of '<' '>' buttons which I used in order to design a shadow. Anyway, now it works flawlessly.

Thank you for your comments! Let me know if you notice more issues.

Thank you for making this mod! I own the physical game and it's quickly become one of my favourites. One thing that doesn't seem to be working quite right at the moment are the ring track < > buttons. They seem to work only 25% of the time. The rest of the time, nothing moves.

Latest update includes:

- one button for all the stages of the game;
- locked different elements for smoother gameplay;
- nicer buttons design for automated elements.

Good luck and have fun!

Thank you very much for nice comments again!

Minor update:
- changed landmark tiles layout;
- swapped gold counters (Fellowship is now on the lefthand side)

There is solo mode variant of the rulebook published on BGG. What do you think, does it worth efforts to implement this variant here?
