How to Use War Thunder Live to Get Skins for Your Planes

War Thunder Live is an official platform where users can share their custom content, including skins and sound mods. If you want to personalize your aircraft with unique skins, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you.

Step 1: Go to War Thunder Live Website

Open your browser and go to the War Thunder Live website: https://live.warthunder.com.
Once there, you’ll see a wide variety of user-created content such as skins, sound mods, and camouflages.
Step 2: Find a Skin for Your Plane

Use the search bar or filters to find skins specifically for your plane.
For example, if you want a skin for the Spitfire Mk IX, type it in the search bar.
You can also filter by Type, Category, and Rating to narrow down your choices.
Step 3: Download the Skin

Click on the skin you want to download.
On the skin's page, click the Download button, which is usually located under the preview images or in the sidebar.
The skin file will usually be in a .zip or .rar format, so extract it to a folder on your PC.
Step 4: Find Your War Thunder Custom Skins Folder

Navigate to your War Thunder installation folder. This is usually located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\War Thunder
Inside the War Thunder folder, go to:
UserSkins
If this folder doesn’t exist, launch War Thunder and go to Customization for the plane you want to apply the skin to, then click Create a Custom Skin. This will create a folder for you automatically.
Step 5: Apply the Skin to Your Plane

Go to the UserSkins folder you located in Step 4.
Find the folder with the name of the plane you are applying the skin to.
Copy the extracted skin files (e.g., .tga, .blk files) into this folder.
Launch War Thunder, select the aircraft you downloaded the skin for, and go to Customization.
You should see an option to apply your new custom skin. Select it, and you’re done!
How to Use War Thunder Live to Get Sound Mods

Sound mods can enhance your game experience by changing the engine, gunfire, and general audio. Here’s how to install sound mods from War Thunder Live.

Step 1: Search for Sound Mods on War Thunder Live

Navigate to the War Thunder Live website: https://live.warthunder.com.
In the search bar, type “sound mod” or a specific type of sound mod (e.g., “jet engine sound” or “gunfire sound mod”).
Use filters to refine your search for specific types of sounds, such as Weapon Sounds, Engine Sounds, or Environmental Sounds.
Step 2: Download the Sound Mod

Once you find a sound mod that you like, click on it to go to the mod’s page.
Hit the Download button to download the sound mod.
The file will usually be compressed in a .zip or .rar format. Extract the files to a folder on your PC.
Step 3: Install the Sound Mod Using the Config File

Find your War Thunder installation folder, typically in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\War Thunder
Navigate to the folder called sound.
If this folder doesn’t exist, create it manually.
Open the extracted sound mod folder, and copy the sound mod files (often in .wem format) to the sound folder you just located or created.
Step 4: Modify the Config.blk File

Inside the War Thunder installation folder, find the file called config.blk.
Open this file using any text editor (like Notepad).
Add the following line to the file, just under the sound section:
bash
Copy code
enable_mod:b=yes
Save and close the file.
Step 5: Launch War Thunder

Start War Thunder and go to the Sound Settings.
Look for the option Enable Custom Sounds, and make sure it is checked.
Play a match or test a vehicle to see if the sound mod is working.
Step 6: Troubleshooting
If the sound mod doesn't work:

Double-check that the files are in the correct folder (sound) and that they are the correct format (.wem).
Make sure the config.blk file is edited correctly, with no extra spaces or typos.
Restart War Thunder to ensure the mod takes effect.
Now you can enjoy your personalized War Thunder experience with both unique skins and sounds!
