How to import texture mods.
1. Download WECCL.

WECCL is required to run all mods in Wrestling Empire. You can download and install the latest version of WECCL from Wrestling Empire's Steam Workshop here:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3022699985

2. Locate Wrestling Empire's Plugins folder.

Use the following address to locate Empire's plugins folder. This is the area where modded texture files are stored. This area also stores mods you downloaded from Empire's Workshop.

3. Create a new folder in the Plugins folder.

Create a new folder in the Plugins folder. This is where you will be placing your own mod.
Don't forget to name your folder.

4. Properly set up your mod folder.

The most important step is making sure your mod is properly organized in the Plugins folder; otherwise your mod won't show.

In this guide, we will be creating and importing a mask mod into your copy of Wrestling Empire.

Click on the new folder you just created in Plugins, then set up your new folder like this:

Within your new folder:
- Create a folder called Plugins
- Inside the Plugins folder, create another folder called Assets
- Inside the Assets folder, create another folder called face_mask

5. Download the face template.

KlementineQT has created a useful Photoshop template for designing mask textures.
You can download the face texture here:

https://github.com/klementineQt/WrestlingEmpireTextureTemplates?tab=readme-ov-file#modding-discord

6. Save your work to the face_mask folder.

Once you are happy with your work, save it in the face_mask folder you just created.

(New folder - Plugins - Assets - face_mask)

7. Start Wrestling Empire.

8. Choose 'Run Modded'.
You will need to run the modded version for mods to be enabled in Wrestling Empire.

9. Finding your mod in Editor mode.

Since we created a mask mod, you will be able to find your mask by selecting either the 'Mask Base' or 'Mask Detail' section of Edit mode.

Scroll through the masks until you spot your work. The number in which your mod will appear in the Mask Base or Mask Detail section will vary depending on how many mods you have created/ downloaded from Empire's Workshop.

10. Editing your work.

If you are unhappy with your mask mod and wish to edit it, simply close Wrestling Empire and continue to work away at your mod. Any changes to your mod will appear in-game once Wrestling Empire is restarted.

11. Uploading your mod to the Steam Workshop.

If you are happy with your mod and wish to publish it to the Workshop, start Wrestling Empire and select 'Run Uploader' from the Wrestling Empire Launcher Plus menu.

12. Select 'Create Item'.

A box will then appear. Write out the name of your submission and choose 'OK'.

You will then see a prompt that says the submission has been created. Press 'OK' to continue.

Pressing OK will create a spot for your mod in Empire's Workshop, along with a folder on your computer for your mod. But don't worry. Your mod will remain invisible to the public for the time being.

13. Locate your mod submission in Empire's Launcher.

After Creating and naming your new item, it should appear in the Wrestling Empire Launcher. Locate the item and click on it.

Doing so will create an 'Icon' image preview, which is necessary for showing up in the Steam Workshop.

Now close Wrestling Empire entirely (launcher included) to begin preparing your mod for upload.

14. Locate your mod folder

Now it's time to prepare your mod to be uploaded to the steam workshop. Select the following address to locate your mod's newly-created folder.

From the Uploader folder, find the folder of the mod you just created. You should see two folders created. Select the folder with (1) next to it.

15. Setting up the mod folder to be uploaded.

Just like in previous steps, you'll have to properly organize your mod's folder before uploading it to the Steam Workshop.

Within your mod's folder, create a new folder called 'Plugins'
- In the Plugins folder, then create a folder called 'Assets'
- In the Assets folder, then create a folder called 'face_mask'.

Copy and paste your mask mod into the face_mask folder for this mod.

16. Updating the Icon image preview.

Before you can upload your mod to the Workshop, you will have to create an image preview.
Inside your mod's folder will be an icon image file. You can open the image file and edit it in Photoshop, paint or any other image editing program, or simply save over the image file.

17. Start Wrestling Empire.

18. Choose Run Uploader.

19. Select your mod from the Launcher menu.

20. Filling out the necessary fields before uploading.

Before you can upload your mod to the Steam Workshop, you will have to fill out a few sections.

Visibility - Set to Public if you want everyone to see your mod.

Author - Write out the author of the mod. Can be anyone. I go with my own Steam handle here.

Description - can be a few words talking about your mod.

Version - this feature isn't always necessary, but in case, just type 1.0.0. for this section.

Tags - keywords that can help other players find your mod. You can use keywords like 'Character', 'texture', 'mod', 'WWE', etc.

21. Click Submit.

Your mod has now been uploaded to the Wrestling Empire Workshop!

22. Bundling your texture mods with a created character.

It is possible to upload your texture mods and created characters in the same upload.
Simply add the assets - plugins - face_mask folders to your created Wrestler's Uploader section folder before submitting to the Workshop.

Hey, just one more thing regarding uploading characters with custom assets: if you're uploading both the character and their assets in a single mod, you need to modify the character file in notepad so it points to the uploading mod folder. You open the character file in notepad, Ctrl + F "Custom" and make sure it says "Custom/ Author-Mod name /asset.png" instead of "Custom/ Manual /asset.png" or "Custom/ Assets /asset.png". Otherwise it will show up broken for people who download the character. So like for example, if I was uploading a custom workshop item named "Goku", it should say "Custom/ GeeEm-Goku /FaceGoku.png" in the character file.

Also note that you don't need to do it if you're using already uploaded textures from a different workshop item.
