To best describe this game, I'll tell you a story.

Lost Boy, an up and coming wrestler fresh off the indies with some buzz to him. Known for being hyper aggressive in the ring and cutthroat outside of it, he was signed to one of the biggest promotions in the industry. He went on a 15 match win streak, was on every major show, and was growing in popularity. He'd try and try to get the attention of the champions on the brand, but they all ducked him.

So he started to make his own opportunities, targetting their friends backstage to get matches and win them in dominant fashion. Before long, the midcard champion says he can fight him... but not for the title. After the hardest fight of his career, Lost Boy pins the champion in the ring, 1, 2, 3. So management has no choice but to put him in a Title Match. The day comes, and once again Lost Boy comes out on top and is the new midcard champion.

Ratings are suffering because our world champion has gotten stale, and with Lost Boy going on a near 30 match win streak with the highest popularity in the company, he was put in a Winner Takes All match against the champ. Despite shenanigans, Lost Boy won and was now the undisputed champion of the entire promotion. But, only two weeks in, the former world champion got a rematch... With the General Manager as the referee... Lost Boy was attacked by the former midcard champion in the match, and the ref helped him. Lost Boy suffered a serious injury in the match, and was pinned for the first time in his career.

He was injured for 6 weeks, during that time the General Manager told him he needed to gain 30 pounds if he wanted to stay in the company. In how much time? 5 weeks... Impossible. He was fired and back on the indies, his physical abilities a fraction of what they were before. He approached wrestling differently, humbled. He lost matches on purpose to put over promising opponents, he worked hard and got signed by his former promotion's biggest competition. After a few months, he became world champion again and the ratings rose to tie his previous brand. The end of the year comes, and it's time for an interpromotional show, battle of the brands. The main event? Lost Boy vs his former rival. In an interference filled match from both sides, chaos and mayhem, false finishes left and right and both champions totally beaten and bloody, Lost Boy hit his old finisher the Jumping DDT, the move that won him countless matches before, the move he had beaten the champion before against all odds... 1... 2... 3. In that one match, Lost Boy had exorcised the demons of his past, and proved his new attitude and the superiority of his brand. Ratings spiked to a record high.

The next week? His old brand called him back... "you're making huge strides, we want to sign you back for twice what you were making and you'll be a guaranteed champion"... Lost Boy said no. He proved he was better than that, he earned his spot in his current company, and he showed everyone that he's right where he belongs.

That's entirely from random events and happenstance in this game. Random chaos can happen, storylines develop organically, and while it's janky, that's a huge part of the charm of it! It's wild, crazy, broken, and I love it. Having you manage your career outside of wrestling matches really adds to the entire experience, battling the booking you're given while managing friends and enemies, having to make it to the gig in one piece or engaging in Heel tactics like jumping people before your match or sicing your friends on them mid match, then having to fight those same tactics when you're a Face is so fun. Absolute blast of a game
