Edo

Description
Musashi as the capital of the Edo faction is renamed to Edo. Made as a sequel (prequel?) mod to this mod changing Musashi's name to Tokyo: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1425772678.

Musashi's Wiki says it was a district of Tokyo and doesn't say anything prior to the Meiji era. However, Edo is described as being the name of Tokyo prior to the Meiji era, so I don't know why CA chose to name it Musashi but whatever.

This mod, just like the Tokyo mod, can be activated and/or deactivated at any time in your campaign. Ideally this would be intended to use from the start and, if you're playing as an imperial faction and take Edo, you can switch out the mod with the Tokyo one. That's the intent but please use it as you wish.

I agree that it's a very strange design decision on CA's part, considering that the settlements themselves are - from a game mechanics perspective - THE focal point of the entire region / province system. Your analogy with England and Brandenburg is pretty spot on. Then again, I am admittedly not too knowledgeable on this specific subject, so I always just assumed that maybe this is simply how provinces / prefectures are structured in Japan.

Ah, interesting. Well if that's the case, then CA did the reverse of what they should have done. Hovering over the province should give the province name while the settlement itself should be named after the provincial city. Having a town/ city named Musashi wouldn't make sense. That's like having the city of London named "England" or the city of Berlin named "Brandenburg".

The names displayed on the campaign map are the names of the provinces / prefectures, not the names of the cities themselves. The names of the cities can be viewed in-game by hovering the cursor over the settlement itself. If this is done with the settlement located in Musashi province, then the settlement's name will correctly display as "Edo". All this mod seems to do is erroneously rename the entirety of Musashi province to Edo, despite the fact that both the province and the settlement itself each already possess the correct names.
