This mod adds in Volatiles from the game Dying Light! Please read the workshop description as some things are very important.

VERY IMPORTANT
  • In sandbox settings, go to world and set Light Bulb Lifespan to 0,the mod is balanced around these bulbs being somewhat rare and having to replace the bulbs your world would quickly run out of usable Purple Light Bulbs, also purple light bulbs will not work in vehicles.
  • In Sandbox Settings in Zombie Lore Options set "CrawlUnderVehicle" to "Crawlers Only" otherwise volatiles will be VERY common, and even spawn during the day, and the Health changes wont Work.


very unlikely it's compatible with ANY mod that messes with Zombie AI

Features

Volatiles
  • they will spawn every night after a set amount of days have passed since the starting day (Default 7 days, configurable, their spawn rate is also configurable)
  • They sprint and are incredibly tough. Your best option is to either use guns or run away, though be warned - they have insane health by default, they take about 3-5 swings with max Long Blade skill and a Katana before dying(their health is configurable)
  • during the day they turn back into regular zombies.
  • they have sounds that play if they detect you, are chasing you, or just walking around

UV light system
  • You can replace the light bulbs of various light sources with a Purple Light Bulbs which can now be found in Industrial buildings such as warehouses, some commercial buildings to.
  • When Volatiles interact with the UV light, they will run away. (Note that the lights WILL NOT HURT Volatiles they will only repel them)
  • Setting up UV lights is as simple as replacing the light bulb of the light source to a Purple Light Bulb and having the light source turned on.
  • UV Lights DO NOT work on regular zombies, only Volatiles

Dynamic day and night system
  • The mod is programmed to be aware of when it is day and night for the current season, it's all handled automatically for you.

  • The mod has been tested and works in multiplayer.

Mystik if you read the comments below you'll see that the mod is broken for MP and he is currently working on not just a fix for it but Build 42 compatibility

Kinda of let down, the sound are very scary but unfortunately they are completely desync....
in MP meta event sound are desync across players so players hear screams at different times and when encountering the zombie can scream behind you and be on your left or when zombie dies it continues to scream... nice mod but not realistic and immersive as it should be

What would be the maximum or recommended values for too many to appear? Since when I set it to 100, only 1 or 2 appeared per neighborhood, and I would like there to be more.

@Flipper Sorry to hear that the multiplayer for this mod is in a very broken state, we'll be looking into it! before the mod was published i did pretty extensive testing, so a update to b41 must have broken some parts of the mod, thank you for the bug report

I just tested it by removing rally settings, definitive zombies, scent of blood, and it's still the same. I remember when I tested it in singleplayer when I was making the modpack the lights worked, I tried using purple light bulb uv light bulb and both don't work. I have the sandbox options indicated in the description since the beginning of the game.

any chance your playing with literally any other zombie Ai mod?if not One of the updates to build41 must have broken the mod then, i did pretty extensive mulitplayer testing before the mod was published, we'll have to take a look at whats going on.

yes my light bulb lifespan is 0, and the crawlers is set to crawlers only option
