JR Kyushu 305 Series EMU

Description
August 27th, 2019

"Are you sure you want to get this game? It looks really low poly- like a old playstation game."
- My Dad

5 years ago from the day this item will be uploaded on Steam (accounting for Eastern Standard Time), I bought this innocuous game for my 15th Birthday. Allured by my burning fascination with trains (which was perhaps a side effect of possibly having ADHD), I sunk my teeth into this game, despite most in my family seeing it and being disinterested by it's low poly nature.

A whirlpool of perturbing, amazing, and insane; that's the closest I will ever get to describing the sensation that I get looking back on this long road I've been with this game. A road that has contained a lot, and I mean, a lot of things. From loss, to monolithic achivements, to gaining valuable life lessons hardened by mistakes, to even doing things I thought I would never otherwise do in my life. I mean, really, how many bucks would you wager that if I told 15 year old me that getting this game would be the canon event that made me into a 3D modeler and general artist bound for the gaming industry, he would stare in incomprehensible disbelief? Seriously, from traveling to Japan- the place of my childhood dreams, to seeking college education and careers revolving around digital art and modeling: the 5 years I spent with this community have without a doubt influenced my most important moments, even if it was only in the most miniscule way.

Introspective and/or Retrospective moments like this really push the envelope on my moderatly absurdist philosophical views. Life can go many which ways, based on choices not told to us, all of course being without a lick of rhyme or reason. And I believe the name of the game is to make the most of the circumstances. So that I will do.

In the 2019-2020 ballpark, 15 year old me took a stab at modeling for the first time ever, in the name of a Japanese train that I found cool at the time. It wasn't great, but it wrote into stone the interest I had in the countries trains, and the digital art career path I would begin to traverse. So if I am going to put a cap on this, it's best to end on the same note I started on. So after a near callender year in the works and even the purchasing a model while in Kyoto, Japan, I present to you a remake of the JR Kyushu 305 Series.

A thanks to friends and family, to those who are no longer with us, to those that went separate ways, and to those that remain
A thanks to the Rolling Line community, and the one-man band that made the game, Jack Huygens
And a thanks to you reading this workshop and/or subscribing to this item, for having what i'd consider a amazingly profound impact on the 5 years of walking down this road with this game.

The trains in the background are either models I have acquired back when Rolling Line had a modding form, or have acquired through my friends over the years. As much as I hate to say it, there probably isn't a reliable way to get it, and I don't think re uploading those models would be in good taste to any party involved.
