Dynamic guard "Contact-1"
“Contact-1” is a valuable complex of dynamic protection of the first generation, which was developed in 1982 by the leaders of the NDI Steel.

The container contains two vibration panels measuring 252×130×10 mm. The skin panel contains 260 grams of PG-5A vibration pad. The weight of each element without fastenings is 5.3 kg.
ARAT-1 DZ units protect the tank from cumulative ammunition, weapons and artillery fire.
The principle of operation lies in the fact that a stream of shaped charge strikes metal plates, initiating a vibrator ball in the middle, causing two metal plates to scatter at different sides.

There are 32 blocks placed on the skin on the sides of the tank, with an optional placement on the tower.
