Kingfisher Mining Attachment

Description
This is a Mining Attachment for the Kingfisher ship.

Here is a link to the original ship: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3315431348

Features
  • Dual Miners.
  • 1008 Ore Capacity.
  • Deployable mining cart for retrieving ingots.
  • Full remote control (funnels, cart, miner, vacuum).
  • 3 Funnels
  • Vacuum for retrieving from other vehicles/hoppers.

Connection Procedure

1. Turn on the connector on the attachment.
2. Turn on the connector inside the Kingfisher (overhead buttons, second from the leftmost button).
3. Bring the connectors within close proximity and in line with each other and it should connect. You can use the "LDG" toggle when in Hover mode(3) to get a camera view with laser sites.

Operation

Once the attachment is connected you will have options on the lefthand 1x1 screen in the Kingfisher. These options will be as follows:

MNR - Turns the drilling heads on/off.
VAC - Turns the vacuum on/off.
FL1, 2, 3, 4 - Opens/closes the respective funnels to dump ore. Funnel 1 is toward the bow, Funnel 4 is toward the stern.
CRT - Turns the cart connectors on/off. Turn on to release, turn off when you're ready to pick the cart back up.

How to Make Your Own Attachments!

If you like the Kingfisher, but aren't really interested in mining, you can make your own attachment that fits your needs!

You can use the template here to get started!

If there's anything in this build that you like, please feel free to use it in your own. No need to ask for permission. If you are going to re-upload this, it would be appreciated if you would make at least one meaningful change and credit me! That being said, I'm a sign, not a cop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That is, indeed, a downside of using an attachment. Hopefully the upside of having greater utility is worth blocking one of the exits :)

Ok. I'm aware how to counter this, but the ramp is blocked by the attachment. I just go round the back.

NaN/iG19432, you can just hover over the mining spots at the open strip mines. It's too big to go into the smaller cave mines. If you hover and turn the drills on it should start picking some up. The cart is mostly so that you can easily retrieve the ingots when you process the ore.

Aetherwisp, I don't know that I will ever get around to such a creation. There are certainly many smaller subs that work well on the workshop which could be attached to the attachment and dropped, which might be the way to go. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try using the template to make your own!

Are you supposed to land this attachment onto the mining spots? The cart seems unable to move w/ trailer attached

I would love to see a diving drone great idea @Aetherwisp

would you consider making a diving drone for exploration in tighter areas?
