Arctic Plateau (Siberian Biome)

Fictional Siberian peninsula with a central plateau surrounded by coastal lowlands, and isolated from the mainland by a mountain range. One Soviet and one NATO customs on opposite sides of the map.

There is ample flat tundra to develop large industrial and agricultural areas (which is needed to contend with the short growing season and heating requirements). Resources are plentiful but spaced apart for logistical challenge. Terrain prevents easy transit across the center of the map.

You must wind your way through a mountain pass and descend into a secluded valley to access uranium and bauxite. An old abandoned dirt road shows the path prospectors took years ago in a futile attempt to seek out riches in this valley.
