Description
R.A.T.S. (Rimtech Assisted Targeting System)

Note: Now depends on Keyz' Misc Resources

Inspired by the iconic VATS system from the Fallout series, R.A.T.S. brings a new layer of tactical depth to Rimworld combat. This mod allows your colonists to temporarily slow down time, carefully analyze their enemies, and target specific body parts with precision strikes. With R.A.T.S., every shot counts, offering a thrilling blend of strategy and action to your Rimworld experience.

Usage
Once you've researched R.A.T.S. you can build and equip a RATSLink to give the pawn the RATS ability.

Once the research is done, Bionic Eyes, Archotech Eyes, Recon Armour, and Charge Lances also enable the ability.

Troubleshooting
The thing is equipped, and I can't see the RATS button: check you've done the research, and if so, unequip/equip the item.


Key Features:

  • Time Dilation: Activate R.A.T.S. to dramatically slow down time, giving you a tactical advantage in the heat of battle.
  • Precision Targeting: Analyze your enemies and strategically target specific body parts, such as limbs, organs, or even their heads, for devastating effects.
  • Hit Chance Calculation: R.A.T.S. displays the percentage chance of hitting your chosen target, helping you make informed decisions.
  • PipBoy Support! - Supports the pipboy from Vault-Tec - Handy things for your vault!
  • Legendary Effects! - Any apparel or weapons with a quality level of Legendary will get auto assigned a legendary effect!
  • (maybe coming soon) Action Point Cost: Using R.A.T.S. consumes Action Points, adding another layer of tactical consideration to your choices.

With R.A.T.S., turn the tide of any encounter and lead your colonists to victory with calculated precision.

can you add the option to make it so bionics/armors give the pawn the R.A.T.S ability kind of like the sos2 eva patcher mod

RATS.LegendaryEffectWorkers.StatPart_LegendaryEffects:TransformValue -- this eats 15% of my TPS with legendary boots and two legendary guns(one seems to have % chance to have explosion which destroyed half of my room and the other seems to have % chance for igniting enemies). There is also no way to look up those legendary effects you added!!!

Can you turn off Legendary Effects? They're cool and I enjoy playing with them, but I'm not sure they're quite the same as RATS. Feel a bit like their own mod.

If you have the Vault-Tec mod (steam://openurl/https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1888778429) installed, the pipboy from there has RATS enabled for an option that doesn't replace other armour

I'm not good at English, so I use machine translation
I'd like to ask a question that might be a bit silly. Why does RATS only support the Recon Armour and not other armor or helmets? Is it to prevent it from being too OP? My strongest shooting pawn uses implants from other mods and doesn't use Charge Lances. This made me have to let it abandon RATS for the sake of survivability. If possible, I'd like to give players the option to support other Power Armor or Helmets in their settings.
I understand that this can make it too OP, so it's just my personal idea and you're not obligated to implement it.
