Introduction to R&D History：
The Dongfeng 10C electric transmission diesel locomotive is a six axle electric transmission diesel locomotive developed by Dalian Locomotive Works in 1993, featuring double sections, heavy coupling, and heavy-duty; The locomotive is planned to adopt a 12V240ZJD internal combustion engine, which is a modification of the 16V240ZJD internal combustion engine from the Dongfeng 4D model. The locomotive has an installed power of 2130kW.
This locomotive has detailed design literature, which states that the locomotive was developed to adapt to the steep slopes and small curve radii of railway lines in southwestern mountainous areas of China. The design is based on the fact that the Dongfeng 4A type has a large wheelbase, heavy axle weight, and high wheel rail forces during operation in this region, which can cause the railway track gauge to deform and widen when the locomotive travels to some lines. The later Dongfeng 10A and Dongfeng 10D locomotives were developed to solve this problem, but these two types of locomotives also had the problem of insufficient track adhesion. Therefore, the Dongfeng 10C with a smaller wheelbase was designed.
At present, there are two kinds of speculations and opinions among the railway enthusiasts on the Chinese Internet: one is that the locomotive has not been completely manufactured, the other is that it has been simply tested and then abandoned. As of the release of the mod, no reliable real car images have been found, so both the model and appearance were designed and produced by Voxel Railway Museum.
