Soviet Tank Decals (Text & Numbers)

This mod adds some cool new decals to the sides of Soviet M4 Shermans, M3A1 Stuart, ISU-152 and some other vehicles. This mod should work with most other mods as long as they don't change the .def files of Soviet Shermans/M3 Stuart/ISU-152.


This mod contains 5 new enumerator fonts that you can use on Soviet AFVs.

They are split into three text fonts: ru41, ru43 and ru45 so that you can choose era-appropriate decal sets for your vehicles.
The mod also contains two number fonts: ru1b and ru1c. They fit just the same on enumerator .plys that use font ru1 (the default Soviet number font).

Feel free to use this in your mods as long as you credit where you got the decals from.

To get an idea of how the text decals work, have a look at the SU-100Y in editor and at the M4 Shermans in this mod. You will notice that instead of numbers on the hull or turret, these vehicles have text instead. This is because they use different enumerator fonts (ru3 on the SU100Y, ru43/ru45 on the Shermans).

To add text decals to a vehicle, you need to do the following:

If the target vehicle doesn't have enumerators, copy the lines in the .def file from a vehicle that does and then change the font to the one you want.

Copy the enumerator.ply from SU-100Y, add it to the .mdl of any vehicle you like, and then wrestle with matrix34 code to turn, move and resize the enumerator .ply until it fits on the side of your chosen vehicle. Have fun!
