How to remove dew collector heat (and other heat)
By sourtizm TTV
*** I will note that there are already mods for this but you can also just edit your own xml to remove this ***

Hit the gear next to 7 days to die, go to browse local files and then go to data, config.
Then finally find the xml that reads "Blocks.xml"
Make sure you at least have a notepad app to edit the xml.

It's pretty simple, press ctrl + F and type in "dewco" (if you type in dew you'll get unrelated crap)
scroll down under dewcollector until you find "HeatMapStrength"
You'll notice it's at 2, change it to 0 and they will no longer generate heat.
In theory you can do this to any workstation in the game or anything in the game in general as long is it has the "HeatMapStrength" value.
Which is also a little funny because it means in theory you could potentially add this value to other things or increase it to make screamers even more annoying.

Again please remember there are already mods for this kind of thing, also remember messing with your xml files is a really good way to destroy your game's code, one misplaced "." and the game doesn't work anymore.

Imo dew collectors were yes, kinda op, and yes, kinda still are. But to be fair you can still just pull inf water from a water source as long as you have the water filter mod for headgear. And I haven't even seen anyone talk about it yet.
But adding heat to them is actually just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. It almost makes them as redundant as solar energy in this game.
