How to low tier Japanese AB

Are you having trouble getting le destroyed by all those other nations as Japan? Here is how to get slightly less destroyed.

Step 1: Acquire Japan

I would not recommend starting on Japanese. Why? Tier one biplanes are positive ♥♥♥♥ against anything except other tier one biplanes. You will get demolished by Russians immediately.

Start with something simple, like the USSR. Good all-round planes to start off, and built up some convertible RP. (That's right, to Japan you need the moneys.)

Research either the ki-27 or a5m4, both are pretty much the same.

Then, get into some matches. Both these planes are dreafully slow and underarmed, but you can get on someone's tail somewhat easily. Do this for around 5-10 matches.

Step 2: Acquire Ki-45

To get to the really good planes, you should next unlock the Ki-45.

Why? Unless you wanna bomb, you need to have three bought planes to proceed. This guide is not about bombing.

Research the Ki-45, and when you unlock it you can take it into some matches. It is surprisingly maneuverable for a heavy fighter, but underarmed again and the rear gunner is pretty useless against anything.

The Ki-45 is definitely an attrition fighter, but can dogfight better than German heavy fighters.

Step 3: DAT KI-43

HOLY ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ GETTING EXCITING

Okay so you finally get a good fighter; the Ki-43. The Ki-43 is amazingly maneuverable but, you guessed it, underarmored and definitely underarmed. You start with two 7.7mm Machine guns on the centerline.

Not great then.

You can research having a 12.7mm Machine Gun, but I would recommend diverting your researh to the Ki-61 as soon as possible..

However, one thing to remember with the Ki-43 is never, never to go after anything with a rear gunner unelss you are sure the gunner can be killed or there are significant blind spots.

Why? Like most Japanese fighters, it will take an exceedingly long time to kill anything with armor, even if you crit them in every way imaginable.

Also the rear gunners will destroy your ass immediately.

Step 4: holy fook it is the ki-61 (da assist fighter)

The Ki-61 is my favorite plane so far. It looks cool but it is somewhat weak.

Which is why I call it the assist fighter.

How to Ki-61:

Step 1: Spawn and follow your bros

Step 2: See guy getting gangraped by 3 spitfires, 4 hurricanes and 6 buffalos

Step 3: Get in there and outmaneuver your teemates getting in some good hits

Step 4: Get 9 assist streak (its possibru)

Step 5: Be good at this game

k do whatevs now guide is over. Getting to ki-61 is pinnacle of low tier Japanese.

Why? I dont use the zero. It's so weak. The ki-61 can actually take hits like a Russian fighter, but you can be outmaneuvered by biplanes.

just rush to tier 3 japan.. Ki-61-I hei hien = japan maneuver + german firepower.. and B7A2 will outturn every dumb murican plane trying to dogfight..

I should probably note, the Ki-44 hei, with FOUR 12.7 guns, with an air targets belt, sits at 2.0, and it absolutely annihilates everything it shoots at.

Also get J1N1 at the start. Also when using garbage 7.7mm japanese bb guns, try to get as close as possible and you'll have some luck with them. They're ♥♥♥♥ at range, the closer, the better.
