How to play shiprekt
By Flames_of_Disaster_06
Shiprekt is a mod in KAG where 2 to 6 ships battle it out on the open seas. A mod which is a beast to master despite its simple appearence. Being as how ships are fully customisable, there is no clear strategy for winning. There are, however, ways to outsmart the enemy by using these tricks.

The Building Blocks of Shiprekt (literally)
Here i will add the different blocks found in shiprekt.

1.Couplings- The cheapest block, this is used to attach torpedos and mini ships to the mothership. Collision with any block can break these, but as said they are vital in using minis and torps.

2.Smooth floors- The second cheapest block, this object has two functions: allowing crew members to walk around the ship and allowing cannonballs to pass your ship. Yes, thats right, cannons can sometimes bypas flooring. This block is super fragile though, so only use if you want a light ship.

3. Solid wood- the meat and potatos of your ship and your main armor. They are heavy and expensive, but are necesary for ship structure and defense.

4. Propellers- In order to move a ship, you obviously need some propulsion. They are moderatly strong and need to be with solid wood in order to last a good while. Just don't put anything on the rotor part of the propeller, or it will get ripped up. This is the most important block in the game. No wait, this one is...

5.The seat- An inexpensive seat for the brave captain.

People who have played shiprekt know that there are three more blocks, but I will save those for the next section.
Glorious Weapons
Sinking ships that might or might not be dangerous is the name of the game, so weapons are vital. There are seven main ways of attack.

1.Cannon- Very expensive, and colliding with smooth flooring breaks it easily. However, this weapon can break a solid wood with around four shots. 4 or 5 cannons will make you unstoppable....well, kind of. Like i said, cannons are fragile, so other weapons can easily take it down. These weapons can also be manually controlled by crew members, which increases its firing speed.

2.Machine gun- FIRING MA LASER...*sigh*...okay, so this weapon is not that strong. In fact, it is the worst weapon in the game due to its cost, how fragile it is, and how weak it is against all but propellers and cannons. Machine guns can fire faster and can be controlled by sitting captains, however. They are also good on minis due to being lighter than cannons.

3.Bombs/torpedos- My second favorite method of attack. Bombs are slightly more expensive than solids and propellers, but when added into a torpedo they can make a hole in defenses. These are released from couplings by the one with his or her butt in a seat. They can be hard to aim, so be carful not to damage yourself. Torps can be used without bombs, which I feel is more effective due to bombs blowing up solid wood in torpedos immaturly and dealing less damage overall. Bombs can also be put alone on couplings in order to ram. Which leads me to the next weapon...

4.RAMMING YOUR SHIP INTO YOUR ENEMY WHICH ALSO SCREWS UP YOUR OWN SHIP DUE TO THE CORE BECOMING EXPOSED...*ahem*...This tactic has been nerfed due to repelling cores, but it can still be done.

5.Minis-Mini warfare is decent. Minis come in many shapes ans sizes, and can use any combination of the tactics above. There is a huge drawback, however, and I will save that for later.

6.Boarding- Sabotaging the enemy ship by putting bombs on the enemy, and using your pistol to deal damage to cores. My favorite tactic due to me feeling like a boss when I solo a behemoth.

7. Exploding cores- You should never have to rely on this tactic, since your core exploding means you lose. Bummer. But this can lead to some funny ties.

8.Whirlpool- When a match has gone on long enough, the server players can vote to summon a whirlpool that will eventually suck everyone in. The key here is speed, so spam propellers. If all is lost, try the ramming method to take out enemy propellers.

Now that you know your tools for survival, lests piece this all together
-Guns are countered best through torpedos or ramming minis. Using your own guns against them is futile since you will also use firepower.

-minis have no real counter. They are faster that your ship, and will most likely use machine guns. The best counter is good armor and small but fast torps. Other minis can sacrifice their lives to take out an enemy mini,

Torpedos- A fast ship, or catching a torp by putting down a coupling at the right time. Torpedos are tricky to counter unless a mini is able to ram the couplings and break the torpedo from the ship.

Ramming- Again, speed is very important here.

Boarding parties- If you think that the enemy wants to send men into your ship, it is important that you keep your distance and use guns.

Exploding cores- RUN, RUN, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You and your booty (not that booty)
So you have learned of all your tools and are ready to strike the enemy. BUT WAIT! How can you finance this war? There are two ways to go about this: the x and attacking enemies with guns. Three tips on how to get alot of it.

1.When mother ships have free time, they should hover over x's in order to slowly get booty. Motherships get more booty than minis.

2.Minis can get booty from an x, but it is a boring method. Attacking ships with either type of gun can give you booty.

3.Everyone has their own personal booty, but that does not mean you should go on your own adventures. If you are a mini driver, make sure to care for the well being of the mothership by transferring booty to the captain. By sharing booty, the ship will hopefully get faster and get to treasure in a shorter time.

The Crew (aka the nervous system of the ship)
At this point you might think you are ready. WELL YOU ARE NOT!!! You might have the ship of your dreams, but you have to share it with others. This is where the challenge of the game comes from. Even if you are captain people will not always listen. Here are three tips on having a good team.

1. Be positive- like any team, your shiprekt crew has to be in good spirits or the entire operation will fall apart (literally, your ship will get rekt). Say things like "good job" to your team in order to make them motivated.

2. Be on the same page- There are dozens of ways to make a ship, so you need to communicate your plans to people. If you feel that your ship has been compromised, tell people to lay off the minis and instead armor up the main ship.

3.Everyone has to do their share. NO FREE LOADERS!!! Everyone has a part to play, so get into it. If you have a team of 4, the jobs should be like this:

-a captain
-a gunner/boarder
-a mini master
-a builder
A team like this has a balance between offense and defense.
THE ULTIMATE STRATEGY
If you looked at all but this section, you will win a decent number of battles. This part, however, is the key to shiprekt. Ready for this? Okay, here we go...

Don't pick a fight.
No, really. Sometime you can win with aggression, but in most cases the key to winning is getting as much booty as possible and figuring out your strategy. In 1v1 matches this won't work, but if ther are three or more ships you can evade most people and wait for your enemies to kill each other. Even in 1v1 waiting for the enemy to attack is better since, if you are faster, you can just play hit and run and watch their ship fall apart. Build a few minis for defense against other minis and you are set.
