No Breakdowns (SOS2 Compatible)

This mod prevents buildings from breaking down and requiring components to be fixed, this applies to every building with the sole exception being made for SOS2 shields so the mod remains functional and is compatible.

So I never have to replace components again on any buildings ever?

The mod will only patch buildings that it is loaded after. So if the mod that contains building X is loaded after this mod, this mod likely won't patch it. You'll need to put this mod further down the list for it to apply to that mod as well.

This mod is OP! Tynan intends for stuff to breakdown! It's an integral part of the Rimworld experience!
I made this for someone who wanted no breakdowns and still be able to play with SOS2. Don't like it, don't use it.

This mod broke something! I am angry! Rage!
Calm down, take a breather, and try and explain to me what went wrong after you've verified that it definitely is this mod.

How does this mod work?!
It's super simple, it simply deletes the breakdown component from every item in the game. No more breakdowns period. (except for SOS2 shields)

Is this really compatible with SOS2?
Is your mom compatible with your dad?

There are other mods that do this as well!
Quite possibly, I recommend Tweaks Galore for people who want a more integrated package. However as of writing and release of this mod they are not all updated to be SOS2 compatible. I recommend you disable the 'No Breakdowns' function on mods that add these if you are using it in combination with SOS2 and use this one until they have fixed it on their end. The choice is yours of course.

How much time did it take to make this mod?
About 1/10th the time it took to write this FAQ and even less than the thumbnail.

Apologies for the late response. I'll have to look into VFE - Power Module, it does sound very likely that it has a custom breakdown mechanic and will need a 'special case' conditional patch. I'll look into it this weekend.

i'm so awful with keeping up with these breakdowns, i already lost a few runs because they happened during the worst time, thank god this mod exists

Hmm, is this mod not compatible with Nuclear Reactors from Vanilla Powers Expanded? I get a constant red error every tick with both enabled. It might have something to do with how VPE nuclear reactors have a forced breakdown mechanic when a solar flare happens.

@Ashen it 'might' throw an error, not sure, let me know if it does. But it wouldn't break your game in anyway.

You can freely install and uninstall at anytime.

Can I use this without SOS2? Planning on adding SOS2 to my list later and I just don't want to forget this mod exists.

Older breakdown mods do the same as this mod but they don't create an exception for the SOS2 shield buildings. The shield buildings are designed to 'breakdown' in SOS2 and if they don't the combat breaks as a result.

That's the only difference (I think).

that ship looks like it'll be traveling from system to system in order to deliver some critical news in order to prevent a rebel attack but is forced to defeat their flagship alone
