CS2 Workshop Maps for Improvement

A quick guide to the best maps for improving your skills, UI, and HUD, along with a selection of useful custom commands.

Crosshair Design

This map provides all the tools you need to customize your crosshair! It includes all the standard settings, along with options to quickly enable or disable follow recoil, dynamic gap, and friendly fire warnings. Additionally, you can easily change HUD colors and adjust sniper crosshair thickness. The map also features a comprehensive list of crosshairs used by professional players from major teams, as well as those of popular social media influencers.

Viewmodel Design

The viewmodel designer lets you customize the position of your weapon on your screen. You can adjust the X, Y, and Z coordinates and switch your default hand from left to right based on your preference. Additionally, there are several premade settings available to inspire your own viewmodel.

General Aim

This map is designed to enhance your overall aim, including target switching, tracking, and click timing. There are several maps to choose from, but I personally prefer this one due to its extensive customization options. Whether you want enemies to peek corners, navigate uneven terrain, strafe, run at you, or have headshots only, this map can accommodate all these scenarios and more.

Recoil Control

While having good aim is crucial, missing the initial headshot can happen. That's when recoil control becomes important. This map will help you practice by showing you the pattern of your recoil and where you should aim to counteract it. For quicker improvement, I highly recommend practicing on this map for 10-20 minutes before jumping into ranked matches.

Prefire / Crosshair Placement

Prefire maps help you practice your crosshair placement and the order in which you should peek. They can also reveal locations you might not usually consider checking. These maps are excellent for warming up before your next match.

Utility Practice

Using these maps is an excellent way to practice utility lineups. If your aim isn't the best, mastering utility can be a powerful asset.

Custom Match Commands

Here are a couple of useful commands you might want to use when practising

Command	What it does
sv_cheats 1	Enable cheats
mp_warmup_end	Ends the warmup
bot_add	adds a bot
bot_kick	removes a bot
mp_freezetime 0	Removes the time unable to move at the start of the round
mp_roundtime 60	Makes the round last 60 min
mp_roundtime_defuse 60	Makes the round last 60 min on defuse maps
mp_maxmoney 60000	Sets maximum money to 60.000$
mp_startmoney 60000	Sets the amount of money you start with to 60.000$
mp_buytime 9999	Gives infinite time to buy from the buy menu
mp_buy_anywhere 1	Sets the difficulty of the bot to 5
mp_autoteambalance 0	Makes you able to buy anywhere on the map
mp_limitteams 0	Allows for uneven number of players between teams
Bot_difficulty 5	Sets the difficulty of the bot to 5
mp_restartgame 1	Restarts the game
