Description
CV Class 1, Core 7, Unlock Level 25 - Reforged Eden 2 Only

Primary roles: CV Miner, Helios Module, Harvest Cargo, Shield, Warp, Defense, Production, Utility

Update 5/28/2024 - Added ventilator and tested o2. I had done this before as well but ended up making some changes to the ship before release and forgot to put it back in. It now has o2 working correctly.

The Plutus-M3 is a CV miner similar to the Plutus-M2 also being a Helios Module. It comes stock with an advanced warp drive, long range radar, shield with additional shield parts, production, full med bay, and utility.

Stock Features

The Plutus-M3 comes stock with a compact shield + 2x chargers and 2x banks, 2x 320K harvest bays, 2x 16K cargo boxes, 2x 14k ammo boxes, 1 advanced constructor, 4x small constructors, full med bay, armor locker, weapon locker, WiFi, advanced warp drive (60 light year), 1x advanced generator, 8 laser mining drills, long range radar, front and rear cockpits, 2 passenger seats, o2 and dispenser, 2x light ship canons, 9x light gatling turrets, and a gravity generator.

Offense and defense

The hull is built with steel, the interior is built with carbon substrate and cargo extensions. It comes with a CV compact shield + 4 addition small shield parts, 2x 14K ammo boxes, 2x light ship cannons, and 9x light gatling turrets.

Notes: On the interior there are a couple access doors to reach the pentaxid tank, warp drive, and gravity generator. The shield is just above the medical bay area. You will find the advanced CPU cores in the warp drive area.

The front of the ship is the mining side, the back is a the module docking side. This was done so when mining, the map will properly show what direction you are facing.

This has not been high gravity tested because it cannot mine planet side being a CV miner. It was set up with a good amount of 6 direction thrust power and should still be able to move well enough with a harvest load.

It does have P-menu options for spot lights, mining drills, and production power. By default the mining drills and spotlights are off but production power is on.

BTW, I wanted to mention that I love the drill layout on this ship. I really wish the Lethe had the same layout (I use a modified version as my starter but was unable to fix that without messing up the aesthetic).

With the recent and upcoming additions to RE2, I'd really like to see a new version with a heavy emphasis on Shields. I love the Drill layout and module compatibility but the ship has limited space for shield upgrades. It would also be cool if the shield module bays could double as a place for Plasma Turbines (as an option).

Seems like the last up-date broke this (again). Any plans to bring this great miner back up to RE2 1.13? This thing is a real GOAT!

@me777, He put those cannons because they look pretty. Just replace them with antennas if you don't need them.

Is there space to retrofit automated mining turrets to this?

And as Dracones said, lra and mjd would really be nice.

Oh, and why those 2x light ship cannons?
I dont know anny scenario those would be usefull...
either you got drones then the turrets should deal with them, or you have a cv, then you run and dont anger it with cannons that don't do annything against shields....

Cool little miner, but it's hard to fit a large radar array on her which is pretty much a must have for any warp capable miner. That and a micro jump drive pretty much become mandatory for asteroid mining once you start to use those devices.

Mr JRandall, I don't know what kind of genius you are, but certainly you are a genius. For years now, every ship you design has been the best at their class. And yet again, after loving the prior Plutus's in my playthroughs, this Plutus is a star in my present playthrough. Thank you for sharing your designs!!!!!!!!!!!:steamhappy:

Good ship, like 2 cockpits. Had to make a lot of changes to it though to improve fuel efficiency. Managed to fit 4 basic and 4 standard turbines in it. Now it draws 900w, but feels a bit crammed inside (obviously). Now gathering resources to actually build it in survival.

So thank you. Now if only we could have updated TBM Miner lol. SV parts changed a lot and it is not clear yet which things are rare and which are not so much. I found a lot of plasma converters, but no antimatter converters so far e.g.
