Description
This is the core Campaign AI used for the Para Bellum Campaign and Collection mods, now available as a separated standalone mod. It features an active campaign AI with adjusted priorities and different profiles according to the faction (aggressive, balanced, defensive, expansive or naval), and a balanced diplomacy to allow powerful factions to increase their initial persistence chances, with more reliable allies but steady enemies, specially tweaked between the different cultures.

oh! This is a good looking AI mode.
Would it be a good idea to additionally subscribe to Better AI Recruitment? :steamhappy:

The number of armies depends on the ai prestige / fame levels, which is balanced in this mod. If there is a high initial number of armies and want to change that you'll have to use another mod that specifically modifies the starpos in that aspect, like Para Bellum Factions.

The 0 upkeep allows the IA to recruit good quality units and more varied armies, if not you'd face low tier troops most of the time, as it doesn't handle the budget like a human player would.

lol mod makes ai armies upkeep to 0. imagine 10 turn and all map is full of 2-3 full armies for each faction. 0 balance i see

I use a mod that reveals the map, which I've been using at turn 50. After getting to 50 a couple times, the global borders were pretty much unchanged and I hadn't been attacked. I'll try the submods you suggested, thanks

I doubt that in 50 turns it will do nothing, you have to see the global development of the map, but the minor factions have fewer possibilities so it is more common for them to defend near or be garrisoned in their settlements, which is more realistic. Here is an example in this gallery of how it can evolve throughout the turns:

Although you can make it more aggressive, as it is compatible with the Para Bellum submods: Alternative Campaign AI and Straight AI. You will have to choose one of the two and place it above Better Campaign AI in the Mod Manager. In this way you will have a more expansive AI although it is more volatile so for a medium or long campaign and to have well-consolidated empires in the long run it is better to just use this mod.

Can you make a really aggressive AI? I've tried a couple campaigns as Rome to turn 50 and the AI isn't doing anything. The borders across the map stay relatively the same and there hasn't been any expansion by the AI. I've had war declared on me but no one attacks.

Saludos!
