Antiquity 200 BC: The Macedonian Wars 1.0.1 (WoS)

Description
Ave citizens of Rome

It is my pleasure and delight to bring you this modification for the Rome 2 TW WoS Campaign

This mod is set in 200 BC, amidst the onset of the Second Macedonian War.

Select the great historical characters of the era to command and conquer - from Scipio Africanus and Scipio Asiaticus of the Romans to King Philip V of Macedon and Antiochus the Great of the Seleucid Empire.

The year is 200 BC, or 553 UC (after the founding of Rome). Following the defeat of Carthage in the Second Punic War, Rome turns its attention to the Greek world where King Philip V of Macedon vies for control over all of Hellas, meanwhile in Asia Minor, the Seleucid Emperor Antiochus the Great vies with the regional powers of Pergamon, Rhodes and the Ptolemaic Empire to establish full supremacy in Asia Minor - with the ambition of launching an invasion of Greece in order to solidify his status as the true heir to Alexanders empire and legacy.

Three Factions Available

- Rome: Starting in the far west of the campaign map, Rome will need to contend with Macedonian and Epirote armies in order to establish a solid foothold in the region.

- Macedon: Starting predominantly in the north of Greece with territories scattered across the Aegean Sea, the Macedonians will need to face-off against the Roman invasion while maintaining supremacy over its sphere of influence across the wider Greek world.

- Seleucid Empire: Beginning in Asia Minor, the Seleucids will need to aggressively expand their dominion in the region against powerful enemies such as Pergamon, the Ionian League and Rhodes. Once the Seleucids have established their supremacy in Asia Minor, they can look towards the ambitious invasion of Greece in order to consolidate their positions as the true heirs of Alexander the Great and his empire.

List of Changes:

* Campaign map reflects the world of 200 BC with historical accuracy
* Historically accurate family trees
* Imported units from the primary Grand Campaign to the playable factions in this mod
* Civil wars have been removed for all the playable factions

That's it folks, go ahead and enjoy and leave a comment to review the mod for other players. It is my pleasure to present to you this mod - The Macedonian Wars 1.0.1 - for your gaming leisure.

Special thanks to co-author Majorian for publishing this mod when my wifi failed to co-operate with me

Final note: I'm working on various mod projects for Atilla for my 'Dark Ages' series, I have ambitions to cover important dates and periods throughout the Dark Ages via modding the TW Atilla Grand Campaign. The latter projects from AD 705 onwards will import all units from the Age of Charlemagne expansion pack and additional new units into the game.

These projects I plan to create are as followed:

- Dark Ages AD 533 - Renovatio Imperii
- Dark Ages AD 622 - Clash of Empires, Rise and Fall
- Dark Ages AD 705 - Age of Justinian II and the Byzantine-Arab Wars
- Dark Ages AD 768 - The Age of Charlemagne
- Dark Ages AD 867 - The Age of Vikings
- Dark Ages AD 976 - The Age of Basil II

Can you do one using the Wrath of Sparta map, just Caesar vs. Pompey during the phase of the civil war in Greece (like the battle of Dyrrhachium and Pharsalus)?

Rome Doesn't seem to have any victory conditions. Also Latin Culture seems to remain at 0.0% despite various cultural conversion buildings built etc...
Also It would be good to replace some of the other factions in the WOS campaign that don't fit into this time period, e.g. Ionian League, and replace other factions with grand campaign versions e.g. Epirus.
All in all though a really good idea for a campaign

Good day. This mod does not open for me. To which version is this mod

Unless I'm doing something wrong here, I can only seem to recruit the vanilla WoS units as Macedon.

thank you man. You are the best. This will make it a lot more interesting and fun. I cant wait to try that. Until then, back to the seleucid empire.

Okay, I'll make Sparta playable alongside Pergamon in the next update
NGNL May 22 @ 3:04pm
i know, although that is precisly why i want to play them: prevent that from ever happening. After the battle of leuktra it was the final straw in terms of military power. but who says you cant change that in a TW game - btw i am majoring in greek and seleucid antiquity

Hello @NGN: Thank you for your review. In the future I only plan to make Pergamon playable. Sparta wasn't a major power in Greece during era and was eventually annexed into the Achaean league during the late 190's BC.

very nice, Seems to be cmpatible with a lot of mods as well. Quick question though: Do you plan on making more factions available? Like I would have loved to revived a mostly dead Sparta (at that point in time)

Very cool
