Description
B42 UPDATE IS LIVE

Violence is not the answer. It is the question, and the answer is yes.

Adds a compliment of anthro zombies.

Anthro Survivors Deceased Skins recommended to use with this mod.

The official Furry Apocalypse Variety Pack converts b41 species to b42. This is a legacy support solution, please don't make b41-exclusive species anymore.

Questions and Answers:
Q: This mod requires Anthro Survivors, and that mod allows to play as a furry!
A: Yes.

Q: Can I play as a human?
A: Yes.

Q: Violence.
A: Yes.

Q: Where do I get the space marine armor?
A: In The Space Marine mod.

Q: How to increase zombie variety?
A: Install any number of Anthro Survivors addons. Install Variety Pack to get large coverage instantly.

Q: How to stop specific types of zombies from spawning?
A: In sandbox options.

Q: How to make specific types of zombies spawn, such as humans?
A: Also in sandbox options.

Q: Can you make <XYZ> type of furry zombie?
A: No. Ask people who make Anthro Survivors & its addons. I don't have any 3d art skills.

Q: Build 41 version?
A: Still works, but won't get updates. Use Variety Pack [b41].

Compatibility
Any species addon for Anthro Survivors should work. Custom Anthro Survivors OC addons should all work fine.

Confirmed:
Everything in the Variety Pack [b41]
Anthro Survivors Deceased Skins [b41]

Partially Compatible:
Mods that add lingerie to zombies - should work but lingerie will only spawn on humans (if humans are enabled). Make sure Furry Apocalypse loads after the lingerie mods to override humans with furries.

Incompatible:
Anthro Zeds, Scaly Zeds - doesn't add anything, messes up spawn rates
Puro Mod - ships as modified copy of Anthro Survivors
Beru Mod - modifies base human character

Known issues
  • Zombies have visual glitches (wontfix). Some models clip through clothing. Some vanilla transparent elements cause see-through holes to appear. There's nothing I can do about it.
  • Zombies can change species when nobody is looking (wontfix). When zombies are unloaded and reloaded, the game might give them a new species.
  • Zombie humans can spawn even if disabled entirely (wontfix). Under some circumstances the furry spawnlist might be ignored, so the zombie spawns as a human.
  • Using Deceased skins in singleplayer causes double-furry clipping; using Survivors skins online causes dead zombies to turn to humans (wontfix). This difference in behavior is precisely why this setting exists. It's left as a setting and not hard-set in the code in case a game update changes how it works.

About this mod
This mod automatically picks up all Anthro Survivors & addons species and makes them spawn as zombies. It's a huge rework of Anthro Zeds mod, ultimately having none of its original DNA left. Besides being automatic, this mod fixes its issues to an extent, and adds customization features.

Configuration
You can customize your Furry Apocalypse instance in sandbox options, by clicking EDIT buttons next to config text fields. Each settings window has helpful tooltips and ⓘ information. Every single species needs to be configured in order to spawn. You can quickly find unconfigured species by opening Species Browser window (click "#" on any group preview panel) and selecting "Pending Confirmation" magic group at the bottom of the list. You will regularly find more species in that list, when Anthro Survivors species addons get updated or added. You can merge a snippet of config string into your configuration by putting it in the textbox and clicking "LOAD" button next to it. Clicking "DUMP" button generates the full config string and puts it into the textbox. Any time you save settings (including autosaves) the defaults will no longer be active, and updates to defaults will not carry over to your config. To merge your config into new defaults, click "DUMP", then clear & delete your preset, then click "LOAD". Merging full configs like this may cause conflicts that need to be resolved manually.

Server Configuration:
You can transfer existing singleplayer sandbox configuration to server sandbox settings. Navigate to singleplayer sandbox options, locate "Spawn Rate String" and click "EDIT" and then "DUMP" buttons. A long spawn rate configuration string will be produced in the textbox. Copy that string, then navigate server filesystem and find the sandbox config file:
Server/YOURPRESET_SandboxVars.lua
In that file, locate the configuration data:
FurryApocalypse = { spawnRateString = "", speciesConfigString = "",
Paste the copied string in "spawnRateString" data field between the quotation marks. Then go back to singleplayer sandbox, locate "Species Config String", click "EDIT" and "DUMP" and copy resulting text, go back to "YOURPRESET_SandboxVars.lua" and paste the copied string in "speciesConfigString" data field between the quotation marks. If you host a server from the main menu, then you can simply copy and paste the strings from the singleplayer sandbox text fields into server settings sandbox text fields.

Decay System
You can ship extra skins for zombies with progressively more rotten body, and these rotten zombies will spawn as the apocalypse progresses. It can be directly inside your species mod, or come as a separate sub-mod. To get it to work, you simply need to have additional clothing items with correct names defined (with rotting textures and/or models), nothing else. There is a script bundled to facilitate that. See other species' rotten zombies to gauge how much rotting to apply at each stage.

Or it's clear then delete. I can't remember. You can also just delete the configs in Zomboid/Lua/FurryApocalypse

@Alphys it's possible to set up weird species configurations such as null groups or circular dependencies, and then spawn rate calculator can't figure them out. You can reset it by clicking "delete" and then "clear" in the editor (uninstalling doesn't delete the config file).

my game has all the other species spawn as NaN and foxes all the way to 100%. uninstalling does nothing.

Darn wrong thread mb.
Coldsteel  [author] Mar 5 @ 9:51am
@ManThatsMental that is AnthroSurvivors bug. FurryApocalypse only transforms zombies from human to furry, there's nothing in the menu, and nothing to do with the player.
