历史信息介绍Introduction to R&D History：
东风7D型内燃机车，是二七机车厂于1995年在基于东风7B型内燃机车的基础上进行改进而来。主要是为西南山区线路小半径、大坡度等问题提供更好的牵引力，解决山区铁路线的牵引问题。起因是柳州铁路局在1994年使用两台东风7B型干线货运内燃机车在黔桂铁路进行双机重联牵引试验，发现这一型机车在山区线路牵引性能好于之前使用的机车，但DF7B型干线机车的设计不适合山区线路使用，因为瞭望角度不佳，这便是DF7D型内燃机车诞生的基本原因了。首台单端司机室的东风7D型内燃机车于1995年7月制成，双端司机室的于1997年制成，它们都使用了1970年代北京型液力传动内燃机车的外观设计，但车头处没有'北京'二字。最后，除了编号为DF7D-0001和3001的该型机车被中国铁道博物馆收藏外，其他共计212台机车都已于2012年退役封存、拆解、转卖给企业单位用作厂内牵引机车。

The Dongfeng 7D diesel locomotive is an improvement made by Erqi Locomotive Works in 1995 based on the Dongfeng 7B diesel locomotive. Mainly to provide better traction for problems such as small radius and large slope of railway lines in southwestern mountainous areas, and to solve the traction problem of railway lines in mountainous areas. The cause was that in 1994, Liuzhou Railway Bureau used two Dongfeng 7B mainline freight diesel locomotives to conduct a double locomotive traction test on the Guizhou Guangxi Railway. It was found that this type of locomotive had better traction performance on mountainous lines than previous locomotives. However, the design of the DF7B mainline locomotive was not suitable for use on mountainous lines due to poor observation angles, which was the basic reason for the birth of the DF7D diesel locomotive. The first single ended cab Dongfeng 7D diesel locomotive was manufactured in July 1995, and the double ended cab was manufactured in 1997. Both of them use the appearance design of the 1970s Beijing type hydraulic transmission diesel locomotive, but there is no '北京' at the front of the locomotive.Finally, except for the DF7D-0001 and 3001 locomotives, which were collected by the China Railway Museum, a total of 212 locomotives were retired, sealed, dismantled, and resold to enterprise units before 2012 for use as traction locomotives in the factory.
