东风7B型电力传动内燃机车，由二七机车厂在1989年基于东风7型内燃机车的基础上开发的一种通用型的机车；相较于前一型号，这一型机车主要是将功率由原2000马力提升至2500马力。该机车有诸多根据使用场景所进行调整的型号，如 适应小半径铁路、干线货运、编组调车、工矿调车、小转运、重联牵引。东风7B型首台机车于1990年下线出厂；机车编号分为DF7-3000系和DF7-6000系；后者为干线货运型，总共生产了215台。另外，这一型机车因为小改动型号较多，所以本模组只提供了3000系和6000系的基本外观构型。
