Description
ICELAND (INGOLFUR ARNARSON)
Unique Trait: Age of Settlement
Earn Great Writer Points for the Capital from discovering Civilizations and founding new cities. Cities founded with Skalds or on foreign continents begin with a free Monument and bonus Population.

Unique Unit: Skald
The Skald is the unique Icelandic replacement for the Great Writer. This unit may be used to effectively scout the oceans, gaining additional Defense, sight, and Movement whilst embarked, as well as being able to cross oceans immediately. It also has the ability to found new cities, but only on a foreign continent that does not contain the Icelandic capital.

Unique Building: Thingstead
The Thingstead is the unique replacement for the Amphitheater for Iceland. Unlike the Amphitheater, the Thingstead forms a City Connection with the Capital over water, boosting your Gold output. In addition, it provides +2 Local Happiness when connected to the Capital, although it cannot provide more Happiness than the city has Population. Contains 1 slot for a Great Work of Writing.
PATCHNOTES
  • v3
  • Standardization update.
  • Thingstead is no longer cheaper to construct.
  • Thingstead now provides Local Happiness with a city connection instead of raw Happiness.
  • Fixed issues with various diacritics not working.
  • UA now provides for a free Monument instead of extra Writing slot, and now on different landmasses instead of different terrains.
  • UA now grants Great Writer Points from founding cities.
  • Great Writer Points earn from the civ's UA now go toward the Capital always regardless of where the Writer's Guild is.
  • Added missing specification that the Skald has doubled movement whilst embarked.

Is there a way to play the older version of the mod where skald cities have an extra great work slot?

Can you add a little food/production bonus for cities settled on tundra/snow? On ynaemp maps and most importantly, Battle Royal MKII, the only tiles they can settle are those, and in real life they aren't doing bad up there. Idea: great writing works in cities on tundra/snow provide 3 food and 3 production.
