ntroduction to R&D History：
The 'DongFeng' 4D electric transmission diesel locomotive is manufactured by Dalian Locomotive Works in China based on the previously developed 'DongFeng' 4C diesel locomotive, as well as the gas engine developed in cooperation with Ricardo in the UK, and some imported components; The first locomotive equipped with a 16V240ZJD diesel engine was successfully launched in 1996, and mass production began the following year. The locomotive has increased its power to 4000 horsepower compared to the previous model, with a total of 575 units produced. It was discontinued in 2003.
