How to add custom models and maps

Steps
1. Download any map or model for Q3A
2. Unzip, unrar it and put it in baseq3 folder - SteamApps\common\Quake Live\baseq3
3.Run game and look for your map or model
4. If you don't found it open console (press ~) and:
for model - write /model modelname or /model modelname/skinname
for map - write /map mapname or /devmap mapmane
5. Play

I don't remember but try pu it in baseq3/sound/player/"youmodelname"

So If I'm implementing another model into Quake, but it doesn't have 'preset' sounds, could I just put the .ogg files into my baseq3 folder, or is there another way for me to get the custom model sounds in the game and not the default ones? (I'm trying to add the model I use for VRChat into Quake so it's uniform across all my '3d model' platforms)

The models I have from 1999 still fail to load as a player. But the bot.pk3s can be added to the game. Default sarge sounds but they still have the custom chat responses.

Q3A use wav file, QL use ogg file, so you must convertt all wav files to ogg

A quake 3 modelpack I tried works, but it's supposed to have sound when you jump/get hit/die/etc.
It has sound in Quake 3, but not Quake Live. What gives?

@Alchtor Yes, becouse Sarge is default player model
