Welcome to Zolaar's Star Wars: The Galactic Empire civilization.



Expansion requirements: This mod requires both Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm DLC to use.

Imperial Colony
Adds a new Strategic Resource, Imperial Colony. This resource is available to to any civilization and is improved with a unique Imperial Transport improvement. Provides bonuses to Gold and various District-based adjacency bonuses. Upon successful research, can be converted to increase city population, Trade route capacity, grant a Spy, or grant a Governor Promotion via project.

Civilization: The Galactic Empire
Ability: Galactic Economy
+1 Yield of every Yield Type for an improved Resource

Infrastructure: The Imperial Academy
Unique District only buildable by the Galactic Empire allowing the production of Stormtroopers, a unique unit. Acts and receives similar bonuses to an Encampment. (no buildable buildings)

Infrastructure: Endor Shield Generator
A unique Wonder only buildable by the Galactic Empire. Upon completion, grants 2 Stormtrooper units, regardless if The Imperial Academy is built. Once Robotics is researched, grants the Deathstar, a unique GDR replacement.

Unit: Stormtrooper
A unique ranged unit. Requires unique resource Imperial Colony. Has a unique promotion tree. Gains bonuses to Combat Strength, Movement, and Sight as technologies are researched. Suffers no combat penalty when damaged.

Unit: The Death Star
A unique unit to The Galactic Empire with a unique promotion tree, comparable to the Giant Death Robot. While located at the Endor Shield Generator, completely heal at the end of each turn and +5000 Combat Strength and Anti-Air Strength while defending. WMDs detonating on an enemy city destroy that city.

Leader: Emperor Palpatine
The Grand Plan
Builders can spend a charge to complete 10% of the production of Wonders. All founded cities start with a free building in the City Center.

So turns out I was wrong. At least kinda. The "Galactic Economy" - ability does probably work as intended, giving +1 yield to the yields the ressource gives, EXCEPT for maize. It doesnt work there for some reason.

Ok, so im kinda lost right now, but what exactly does the "Galactic Economy" - ability do? I played a few games but i cant figure it out. Because the extra yields dont seem to get added to the tile itself and it doesnt look like they were added to the city-yields in general (at least from what the game tells me), so how does it work?

I have an idea for Vader as a playable character for the empire. Implement him as a unique, "vampire" type unit, unlocked by empire turn one. Plus combat strength for each adjacent stormtrooper, plus a permanent +1 combat strength for each unit that dies near Vader. Give him a build charge for Vaders castle, and bam!

so? what about adding star wars leaders to the roster? you have 30 years of lore if you ignore disney. and maybe expand the heroes and legends? what about AT-STs and AT-ATs or even fighters and bombers? or something really ambitious and have a mod that allows you to colonize the moon or something and bring the game into space?

Instead of making the "Imperial Colony" into a random resource on the map, maybe make it a building, quarter or improvement unique to the Empire that provides it? Because the name does not make any sense if if is not owned by the Empire

The attack range of the Death star is so small and it is super slow.
The WMD effect of destroy cities also applies to nuclear submarine, bombers and missile command can also. That makes using the Death star not worth the effort.

Not sure if this was intended but the storm troopers are highly under powered even against early game units. Doesnt really make any sense.

I wish the Death Star had more movement, it takes so many turns to get to the enemy line that the games usually over before I get to use it
