Introduction to R&D History：
The 'DongFangHong' 6(Oriental Red 6) hydraulic transmission diesel locomotive was developed by China's Ziyang Locomotive Factory in 1980 and successfully manufactured in 1981. The locomotive was made using the combustion engine and transmission technology of the 'DongFangHong' 4 diesel locomotive, and only one was produced; However, due to the abandonment of the 'DongFangHong' 4 diesel locomotive project for unfounded reasons (which was actually caused by the top-down social ideology of 'it's better to buy foreign goods than to make it ourselves'), the 'DongFangHong' 6 was also stopped because it used the same type of diesel engine. The hydraulic transmission device has also successfully installed an automatic gear shifting device, ensuring that the locomotive's reversing time is no later than the electric transmission shunting; And the unique overall layout of this locomotive was also imitated by many locomotives later on, becoming the world's most powerful hydraulic transmission shunting diesel locomotive at that time.
