Introduction to R&D History：
The 'Long March' 1 gas turbine locomotive(Code: 'RD'1) was jointly designed by Harbin Turbine Factory, Xiangtan Electric Motor Factory, Datong Factory and other units in socialist China. The design began in 1964 and a test locomotive was successfully produced in 1969. This locomotive was born during the so-called Great Cataclysm of the Proletarian Cultural Revolution, and is one of the many technological achievements that were independently designed and manufactured during this period. Like many technological achievements, this directly reflects the baseless claim of the so-called 'catastrophe'. Independence, self-reliance, and self-reliance were the true realities of socialist China at that time.
