Introduction to R&D History：
The 'DongFangHong' 3 (Oriental Red 3) hydraulic transmission diesel locomotive was improved and upgraded by Sifang Factory in 1970 based on the ‘DFH’2 meter gauge diesel locomotive provided free assistance to the Tanzania Zambia Railway. Trial production was completed in November of the following year. At present, what I can determine through decryption of information is that the 'DongFangHong' 3 model is divided into early models (car numbers 0001~0005) and two improved models (car numbers 0006), with the main differences being appearance, vehicle height, and some exterior components. The 'DongFangHong' 3 locomotive was one of the many independently designed and manufactured internal combustion locomotives that emerged in the last few years of the socialist era. Until June 1979, a total of 60 locomotives were produced.
