Introduction to R&D History：
The DongFeng type electric transmission diesel locomotive was successfully developed by Dalian Locomotive Works in China in 1958. Originally known as the 'GiantDragon' type or ND type (N-generation internal combustion, D-generation electric transmission), it was officially put into mass production in 1963 after several improvements in design. Moreover, the three-year period of economic construction difficulties mainly caused by natural disasters since 1960 almost brought research and development work to a standstill. Since the Soviet revisionist group came to power, it has completely become hostile to socialist China. This is a manifestation of Soviet revisionist social imperialism. They not only export capital to socialist China, but also to third world countries and some smaller socialist countries, calling it friendly aid. In essence, they oppress and exploit these countries by controlling their national economies, And it was strongly opposed by the people of a large number of third world countries at that time. However, under Mao Zedong's correct ideology of ‘independence, self-reliance’, and with the unremitting efforts of socialist technical workers, this locomotive was eventually successfully developed and opened up new progress and development in socialist China's railway industry.
