Animals get a slightly thicker outline which can make visability easier, picking individual colors for each creature/predator is of course possible - however different color biomes make this tricky.

Outlining offers a possible solution at the cost of things looking a bit more abstract.
Initially I just wanted to target the predators but story tellers send in quite a lot of animal packs so all the Animals got the treatment.

You can safetly delete any of the Animals in the textures directory and Rimworld will resort to using the defaults so you can be quite selective.
I also left two examples of how to individually color the Animals in the patches directory just in case you want to tweak colors. All that is required is a text editor and a bit of time.
Use gimp or photoshop if you really want to go to town and customise the png's.
