Outpost changes
NEW - 1.4.4.1 (Blood in the Water)
- Made the bilge pump circuits non-interactable and the bilge pumps non-wireable in outposts. It was too easy to abuse them to drown the outpost.
Sneaky devs reading this guide nyeh heh heh

Winter Patch 2023
- Outpost security is now better at catching thieves: they can do random inspections to check for stolen items (more frequently if your reputation is low or if they've caught someone in your crew stealing), and notice if you're visibly carrying or wearing any stolen items.

- Added bilge pumps and duct blocks throughout outposts. Otherwise the outposts can never drain if the player causes a flood.

This means that: the lower your reputation is with a faction, the more security checks will happen.

Patch 1.0.13.1
- Attacking outpost NPCs can't decrease your reputation by more than 20 points per round. Works as a safeguard against enormous reputation losses e.g. in the case of a trigger-happy griefer or a nuclear mishap.

- Destroying outpost walls can't decrease your reputation by more than 10 points per round.

- Outpost NPCs don't allow players to grab them for longer than 10 seconds to prevent being able to drag them around the outpost.

This means that: Trolls will be limited to a certain extend of their actions.
Outpost NPCs cant be grabbed anymore to be lured to flood and drown them inside the docking room. This was a efficient and easy way of killing Outpost NPCs.
Diving suits stealing (Updated)
There will be an amount of 2 Diving suits for each outpost, except for colony.
Steal them first before flooding the station.
Check where the guards are before you commence stealing the suits to avoid being grabbed
You can tell when the guard interacts with you, if the guard starts talking about security checks
Drop any stolen items you have on you, don't worry if the guards take them. they'll either carry them or put them back to their original location.

Killing Outpost guards
If you would like to kill a guard using water pressure and get their precious armor, weapons and 8 extra battery, you will have to lure them to your submarine airlock while having stolen items or goods that can be seen and drown them by opening the airlock door (wearing stolen toolbelt, tools, armor, etc.)
once you lured the guard into the airlock and starts a security check on you, thats where you wear the suit you stole and open the airlock and wait until the guard dies from water pressure.

WARNING: THIS WILL NOT WORK IF "Killable Outpost NPC's" HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF IN THE SERVER SETTINGS
Spreadsheet for how to lure the Outpost guards into the airlock for each submarine:
Keep doors closed and cut the upper wall

Orca/Orca2, both share same design

Close the door, drop any stolen item and wait for guard to finish security check, Water detector; Output: 0, cut the bottom floor. do not bring a stolen diving suit.

Close the airlock, drop any stolen item and wait for guard to finish security check, cut the left wall. do not bring a stolen diving suit.

Close the door, drop any stolen item and wait for guard to finish security check, Water detector; Output: 0, cut the right wall. do not bring a stolen diving suit.

Close the door, drop any stolen item and wait for guard to finish security check, Water detector; Output: 0, cut the left wall. do not bring a stolen diving suit.

Close the door, drop any stolen item and wait for guard to finish security check, cut the right wall. do not bring a stolen diving suit.
Door Trick

You see that Motion Detector?
i want you to interact with that on every door you see in the outpost before you move onto the next section "Flooding"

Change following settings:
False output: 1

Reason:
Doors are mostly wired to SET_STATE. this means that they will be depended what component or detector commands them to do.
The motion detector will keep the door open, if there is someone around its range and close if there's no one.
Now with this simple change, the detector will set the door to be open 24/7 until manually closed

This will help you quickly transfer water, while flooding the station
Flooding (Updated)
//THE FOLLOWING STRATEGY IS OBSOLETE AND HAS BEEN STRIKEDTHROUGH//
Pump flodding
Silly developers, making our jobs easier after the 2023 Winter patch

Look for these Pumps, anyone should be able to interact with them, if the host hasn't made any strict lobby settings
(Located in Medical, Engineering, etc.)

Don't forget about these 2 Pumps near the Docking Hatch

Change following settings:
Signal Check Component - Output: 100
Water Detector - False Output: 1

Reason:
This is due to the Water Detector being in a dry room and starts to activate the Signal Check, but since output is also set to 1, the Water Detector starts to activate the Signal Check again, telling that its in a wet room.
if you wish to drain water: -100
if you wish to pump it again: 100

Plasma cutter flooding
If you want to flood the outpost using the plasma cutter, i recommend to flood the station in this specific example

Reason:
This way if every room has been flooded, the NPC's will flee upwards from the outpost and die from the pressure, slowly falling back to the floor of the outpost and wont fall down into the bottom of the ocean. Make sure that the diving suits have been stolen before doing so.
Colony does not contain diving suits.
Stunning & Handcuffing
If you have to deal with a hostile outpost, we wont be flooding it now, but hey
Double Trouble they say

Grab 2 of each and combine them, equip 2 Stun Batons, slap anyone you see 2 times and handcuff them.
Outpost Guards carry their own handcuffs which saves you a lot of time.

2 Hits with loaded with Fulgurium battery cell should be sufficient enough, as far as i know
After you stunned them, drag them into the small room so they wont run around inside the outpost.
The talent, Fireman's Carry, is extremely beneficial in this case
(medic only, dragging characters with no speed penalty)

But im facing a colony!

Exit the Docking space and wait for the guards to appear.
as of right now there is a delay before the guards attack you. use this moment to throw a stun grenade and make sure it doesn't hit you.
Stun Grenades receive 10% Bonus Stun Radius for each increased crafting quality. i'll do the math for you
7.5 m (normal) - 8.25 m - 9 m - 9.75 m

Bon appétit

Still find, that the easiest way to kill outpost guards, is by getting them to chase you onto the ladder leading into your sub...
Once they're on the ladder, shoot at them, and they'll drop down and receive massive fall-damage, +your crew will assist in killing them.

Just make sure 1-2 armed crewmembers priortize staying in the sub. :steamhappy:

LMAO

>Devs updated the game
>Guards can search players for stolen items
>Players start killing guards they cannot longer trick

Conclusion: with this update, devs just killed a bunch of people of the noble Europan profession

Apparently their biggest mistake is that players aren't a brook that can be led in one way or another; they're damn tsunami - you cannot go against it; place a wall on its way and it'll break it. If it is a mistake anyways, heh

That's one nice guide here btw!
