Omschrijving
A small grid utility ship with changeable grinding, drilling, or welding hard-points.

Survival ready / No mods / Scripts / DLC / Easy-weld subgrids (2 block engine)

Description

This ship is inspired by the Star Citizen ship "Drake Vulture" which is a salvaging ship. This version has been compacted to be a practical small grid for use in survival. Everything is fully conveyor connected for everything, just make sure that if you're re-placing the drills that the small conveyor port faces up to the small curved conveyor tube.

It has VTOL thrusters to carry large weights around or give extra speed in a straight line. The ship can be used for mining, salvaging, or welding simply by swapping the two tool mounts at the front (grind down drills, then place welders or grinders). It comes with 2 gatling guns just in case you run into a drone or a lone turret. The ship also comes equipped with a survival kit and large hydrogen tank - making it ideal for a first trip to space vessel.

Scripts

Subgrid Thruster Manger by Whiplash141

Note

To build the VTOL thrusters in survival all you need to do is place a curved conveyor tube and a large hydrogen thruster pointing towards the rear of the ship on each rotor. The script will handle the thrusters once you weld them up.

Special Thanks

Thank you to Cloud Imperium Games for designing this awesome ship.

Thank you to Whiplash141 for your amazing scripts.

Thank you to AssHunter for the skybox used in screenshots

Bwell thanks, and no not exclusively. It can do grinding and welding too. It just happens to come with drills equipped by default because that is what I use the most on small ships.

Great, I'm glad there is no conflict here. I should have realised that by the reference to Star Citizen , I need sleep I think.
Well all is good so enjoy your day/night and thanks again for your upload.
Cheers mate.

The Vulture is not my design, this ship is based on a ship from the game Star Citizen. This is just my take on it - and I've improved the design for use in survival. There are several other Vulture ships on the workshop.

Thanks for that too.
I don't want to cause problems for any one but I just found a ship that looks very much like yours.
Are you associated with MrHunterPOLSKA and his ship the [ASC] G-2903 Vulture ?
I hope it's all cool but in case there is anything dodgey about it I thought you should know.

No problem, the only subgrids are the two engines at the rear, but those are super simple to place (its literally just a conveyor and a thruster)

Thanks for explaining that, I was expecting the usual conflict with the printer to build one but this makes it easier. Thanks again.

BIV, thanks for the feedback! The front tools are not even technically sub-grids, you just have to grind down whatever tool you have there and replace it with another. This is to keep the blueprint simple for welding in survival.

This is a great looking build and from the looks and description would be very useful. The easy way of changing out the the front sub-grids is great and makes it very appealing for use in a survival game. Thanks for posting it on the workshop and sharing your idea and your effort. Cheers.
